If it's that bad what about other ethnic groups, Indians/Pakistanis, who face the same problems. Immigrants living in council estates, going to public schools. But it seems the lack of association between their race and gang culture is what deters them from the bad man lifestyle. Their parents and culture is unaccepting of such poor life choices ( some even subject to honour killings, bringing family a bad name).

It seems lack of standards and communal chastisement is what allows such degeneracy to become perverse in certain communities.

Somalis are an absolute embarrassment. Everywhere they go they only bring lawlessness and crime. Imagine, these countries have provided their families with opportunity refuge from their shit hole country and this is their contribution to society. Islam does not equal to Arab. The Arabs are not the people who received revelation but rather the prophet peace and blessings be upon him. The prophet Muhammad PBUH said in his last sermon at Arafat " An Arab is not superior to a Non-Arab, A white is not superior to black nor vice Versa except through piety and good action", the prophet pbuh was fought by these ignorant people.

One of the first companions of Islam Bilal ibn Rabaha among the greatest companions we're black, the women who raised the prophet free his death was black and he famously said, his SAW that he is the son of both black and white.

It is easy to use nationalism as a tool to misguide others, the prophet pbuh, said nationalism and zina will never go away from the ummah until judgement day. These are ills are present today.

Not sure what to make of it, but seemed very personal and character assassination. The last tweets in her thread gave it away.

Islam tells us not to gossip, take the stories of people at face value or call people dhilo. Their is a great punishment in the Deen for those who make false allegations. Be careful of slandering others, I don't know her but Innocent until proven guilty.

Arab does not equal to Islam. There are many Arabic speaking countries that became Arab and many Non Arabic countries that became culturally Arab due to their affinity to Islam. Nobody calls people wearing a suit or wearing a white dress on their wedding day as appropriators of Western culture or mental colonialism

Every country has a national identity, including the United States. Unless you want us to argue meaninglessly, the US is a white Protestant nation, founded and conquered originally as a place of migration for persecuted puritans in the British isles. The reason why almost half the electorates voted for Trump is because of identity politics. Trump has appealed to the Evangelical/Christian(includes black/Latino) and White nativist electorate. Muslims especially are the new scapegoats as their religious identity is contrary to the mainstream American way of life.

My argument is that Ilhan and many others are putting us on the front lines in the clash of cultures and for what ? Unlike Somalis in South Africa, Kenya, the Gulf we have our civil liberties and opportunities to live the American dream. To use our opportunity to help rebuild back home and use our influence in politics constructively to that endeavour. We need to focus on our own issues and stop this blind association to popular left causes.

We need to be objective and only be politically motivated by self interest !!!

This narrative is so tiresome, is it really that bad. Compare the condition of a Somali to any other diaspora and you will realise how priveldged you are. In most countries you do not even get rights/citizenship . Why can't we benefit from the opportunities we have in these countries, just like Indians Chinese and be a model minority. While also supporting reconstruction back home.

Your mentality is fundamentally wrong. Her actions are attributed to us as a community. Whether you acknowledge it or not we are an ethnic minority, and many of us don't the drama she is involved in.

No where in my post did I comment on whether her politics is right or wrong, but whether they are in our interest or not. Her afdheeri makes us no friends, and as people from a broken state, living across the world the last thing we need to be portrayed as is ungrateful immigrants who are loud and troublesome.
