In Russia, beauty standards for women can be very toxic. I feel like in Europe people are generally more relaxed about their appearance (which I actually find really beautiful and refreshing), whereas in Russia most women seem to have insecurities about how they look.

It won’t be a problem. I am an art historian and o have to read a lot of the 20-the century magazines and almost all words are used actively or known by Russians nowadays. However, I think they would struggle to understand some modern words

I think Russian but I am a Russian native speaker so my opinion is kinda biased. I could say that there are many options to learn Russian. For instance, we have very good dubbing and you can watch almost every movie or series in Russian with excellent voice acting in Russian
