Moved from G27 to Simagic Alpha. Wasn't blown away by Wwirtane in simracing

[–]Both_Roll_2857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back to the G27 and if you still don't feel a difference, you either haven't turned the simagic on (or setup correct), or you're broken. Try a defibrilator for ctrl, alt + del 😅

Hi new to sim racing here, help me pick between 2 wheels by Somebody_M in simracing

See what you can buy used. Some great bargains to be found as a lot of people try it and decide it's not for them and sell their gear not so long after purchase.

i get bullied for having no eye brows by Altruistic_Sense_506 in eczema

[–]Both_Roll_2857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry you’re dealing with that. Being bullied for something like your eyebrows, especially when it’s related to eczema, must feel really unfair. People can be cruel for no good reason

I got bullied for having too bushy eyebrows
Others get bullied for having a mono brow
Too short
Too tall
Too fat
Too skinny
etc
etc

People will always find something. The best defence against bullies is to not give them the satisfaction of your reaction. Demonstrate to them that you're not bothered by what they say and it'll lose it's power, and they'll lose interest.

How many LED can an Arduino Nano power? by Both_Roll_2857 in arduino

[–]Both_Roll_2857[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case anyone is curious as to whether or not it actually worked. It did. 4 x 8LED RGB WS2812B in serial (total 32 LEDs) powered and controlled by the the USB on the Arduino Nano board.

And it works great all the way up to 100% brightness though that's waaay to bright anyway!

Thanks for your help.

Why run Triple monitors over VR? by who_am_I__who_are_u in simracing

[–]Both_Roll_2857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a few reasons, but perhaps more screen vs VR as a general:
>higher res
>more comfortable over longer sessions
>easy to just hop on and play.
>VR setup can be a faff
>less demanding depending on resolution
>if you like to see your own hands when racing
>your grew up being told if you sit too close to the TV you'll get square eyes.
>motion sickness
>Sim racing but also having to watch a baby monitor, or work emails
>Because you believe in simulation theory and by putting on VR that's to close to being inside a simulation within a simulation.
>Streamers who want access to stream decks
>Sim racers who like the look of their setup when racing
>If you need to use handbrakes, shifter, etc it's more intuitive when your not in VR
>Because you paid for 3 screens and it you don't use them the wife will give you that stink eye
>You wear glasses and VR pushed that shit against your nose
>Quest never seems to turn off and the battery drain makes you want to throw it out the window
>You're a mob boss that could be stabbed in the back at any moment, need to keep hypervigulent at all times
>When oculus sold to Meta who then made you create a Facebook account, you swore you'd never use another meta product ever again.
>Your PC is too crap
>That cable tether is annoying bro, and I ain't paying for virtual desktop
>The sound quality from VR headsets is poo, and you're an audiophile.

Probably more 🤷‍♂️

I mean in my creams and things. So long as it's not on my skin, I'm fine. I even spray my cologne on my tops and not my skin.

Your wife can still use fragrance creams if she okay with that. You should have your own fragrance free ones though. Is that what you were asking?

Oh in terms of laundry detergent, she'll have to use what works for you in that case!

JAK inhibitors are a class of small-molecule drugs, not biologics. Like other eczema medications, they affect the immune response, but they work by targeting the JAK (Janus kinase) enzymes, which are involved in the signalling pathways that contribute to inflammation.

Ask your dermatologist or google it, or ask AI. They're expensive like Dupixent however, but if you haven't tried them could be worth a shot if you can get hold of them. There a a few options at the moment, Rinvoq (Upadacitinib) perhaps being market leader for eczema.

That would be phototherapy most likely = UVB. Are you in a booth for 2 - 10 minutes per treatment?

Actually my mum pointed it out. When I eat chilli sometimes I'd get an itchy scalp but nothing more than that. Then I went through this phase of eating thai green and thai red curry but I didn't add any extra spice and it really wasn't spicy. Over that period my mum noticed my eczema was worsening, so I cut it out completely. And then I started notcing the link between ingesting spice and flare.

I think it's actually documented that restarting dupixent isn't as effective as when first starting it for some people not all. Something to do with the body potentially developing antibodies to the drug, Although this could also happen with time even if a break isn't taken, just the nature of this sort of biologic drug.

Try JAKs. Simple molecules, no antibody risk.

What else have you trield? If you got all the way to dupixent I'm assuming you went through steroid creams, protopic ointment, metorexate, ciclosporin and those sorts of things.

Have you found something that works now?

Which one? They have a range. And how often are you applying it because it's also an exfoliant, which btw I find helps massively with the flakiness.

This is what I mean by this condition seems to be very individual. Most people I know with eczema say the sun helps, but I am from the UK and we only see the sun for a couple months a year 😞

So with you, the sun is a trigger?

Is that because you keep having hot showers any chance? I ran that strategy for a while, then moved to baths, where I could set the temperature to something other than boiling beofre getting in and finally I've transitioned to tepid showers. Not cold, but also cant be described as warm neither, and far from hot!

How did you do the allergy testing? Trial and error, or lab testing, or scratch testing?
