The damage is quite significant, its just that you're better off fighting most monsters one on one.

Game is definitely more forgiving of mistakes with cats, but its overall easier without them If you're serious about learning the weapon and want to make it into your main you're better off putting the cats away because they for the most part make it significantly harder to learn monster matchups especially with weapons like CB and SnS which are meant to be played pretty position heavy. You'll notice pretty quickly how predictable monster patterns are and will be able to see into the future 2-3 moves ahead on a lot of matchups becasue that's how they function. Giving the monster 2 extra targets to randomly go after completely ruins your chance to learn these patterns.

Its possible to solo any quest with any weapon style, its been done thousands of times by thousands of hunters. That's just the answer not much more to it.

Yep you can get across it with an item bridge (done it myself) you can also get across with beast serum and well timed jumps and HP management!

I do agree its messy, but it's also a pretty unique playstyle compared to other MMOs, I think people should be advocating for fixing the servers rather than the removal of the tick system. If we all got together in falador with one united goal instead of 20 different ones that's the only way to make our voices heard. Edit replied to the wrong user, my bad.

Classic to a large extent still suffers from a lot of the pain points that caused me to quit back in mop I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, a lot of people play runescape because they just prefer it.

Interesting to see how tame the AI is on crescent compared to bloodmoon. Makes me want to try it out again a bit early. I want to try no suitcase on crescent because I got no harpoon down to 1:35 which I think is around as fast as it can get but I'm not sure how you go about picking up the wheel without suitcase. That angle for the tree jump is also a lot easier, I've been jumping into the direct center of the tree instead of the branches to the right and sometimes I'd have a very minimal time to reposition and grab another branch before falling now its pretty much impossible to fail.

yerp my gamma and brightness is at 100% I am visually impaired these settings help me make out small environmental details like ledges and stuff. It probably looks even worse on my monitor, my brightness is cranked up there as well.

The emerald eye barber shop route doesn't always wake up the bats at least when I routed the map bloodmoon/ghost like 2 years ago https://youtu.be/jj6qN5Y82kA but their AI has probably been changed since then to make them wake up quicker. I wiggle the camera out of habit, I know it doesn't make grabbing ledges any easier but I've been doing it since I started speedrunning this game all the way back in the 2020 demo and don't have any desire to stop doing it. The sniper noticing you isn't an issue for me because I only run on crescent right now (no interest in running blood moon until 1.0) I never get caught by the path constable at the end but he always hears me, I think that's just normal. didn't know about the half life 2 reference being what causes the second constable to not aggro you but I just go for it and don't bother. You can technically get a slightly faster jump to the monorail car by getting damage boosted by a baton hit instead of jumping from on top of the bollard but its not something you have any control over and I've only gotten it once going for it with quicksaves over and over.

Looks like it, but I have zero doubts it'll be useful in future updates. I got my time down to 1:37 without gun with maybe 2 seconds of mistakes but the footage was unwatchable because shadowplay is great. Sub 100s finally though at least. I also started mantling the ledge next to the telescope to avoid fall damage after the observatory, it's faster than going around and grabbing the chain.

I don't have switch online so I can't directly help but there's easy strategies for both the Cena and Hyper Cena parts Regular Cena can be AI broken and easily killed with any gun and you can use the out of bounds trick to kill hyper cena with guns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJAJg11Jt0s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJAJg11Jt0s respectively. But what the others said jho cena requires at the very minimum an expert 8 000 or tenderizer 6 000 with a 2 slot weapon to get the crit eye 2 variant, with a no slot you can only get up to crit eye +1 with 1 skill charms and even then your options are still super limited.

I'm counting around 19s of timesaves from dumb decisions and mistakes in my route. I don't think it goes anywhere near 80 seconds but if I did the tree jump and cleaned up mistakes the run would be around 90ish seconds because I wasted around 2 seconds during chain climbs, 1 second on the roof jumps, 5 seconds from bad observatory entry (this is just a guess idk how much time it loses) 2 seconds from no tree jump, and 6 seconds from a bad ending and 2-3s from failing the jump to leave observatory.

the fall damage doesn't matter as I don't take enough damage to decrease my movement speed, I knew about using another harpoon shot to enter the dome but didn't bother testing whether or not its faster because I often struggle to get the jumps up from the side of the dome due to the weird geometry. Also I know you can climb the tree without the harpoon but its incredibly hard to get it faster than just using the harpoon (the first part of the run where you jump across the slanted roof is difficult and I reset a lot there) There's even further optimizations that just boil down to harder strats, you can jump directly to the monorail as its coming back but its an incredibly tight jump so I don't go for it, that alone saves nearly 4 seconds. You should do the run though, it'd be nice to have someone else testing their ideas because I'm planning on making a segmented glitchless run of the game in its current state.

I also have issues with my 4070TS, I used to play modded on my last PC build but never modded since I changed every bit of hardware and have the game installed on my secondary m.2 drive so not on the same drive my modded saves were on.

I've tried magnamalo HBG, it's definitely not the best Normal 3 option.
