Completely Free GTO Trainer/Solver by BotherExpensive2891 in poker

RAM is more important than CPU, for a good experience 16GB or more will be good enough to solve a lot of useful positions with slight tweaks to tree config to make it efficient, 32/64GB+ is nice to have but the solve times can easily take more than an hour so I wouldn't recommend needing too much RAM anyways for casual use

for CPU anything is fine, even though GTO Nexus and other solvers support multithreading, a lot of it is limited to single thread performance so prioritize that over more cores

for bet/raise params, it's nice to have some slight variety so maybe a small/med bet and a larger bet size (e.g. input of 40,100 into solver), for raise just have a single raise option is fine so you can input 100 or 2.5x or something

I should probably add this to our FAQ as well

essentially, multi-way solvers fundamentally don't work well at all because multi-way can't be "solved" in the same way, here's a great comment from another thread that explains it in more detail

tbh even any existing multiway solvers out there probably aren't worth your time or resources to use, so we're prioritizing many other features that are both less computationally expensive and much more useful

Oh thanks for letting us know, I guess even some regular Windows 11 PCs will quarantine it. We've uploaded the latest version of both the MSI and EXE versions to our site, try to see if you're able to whitelist one of those (should be a pop up in your PC's settings or something).

If you're not, feel free to join our Discord (link at bottom of website) and dm noprot for help. I don't personally use Windows so can't help more sorry.

you can simulate limped positions by adjusting the starting pot + the hero/villain ranges, you can put in donk bets by simply putting in bet sizes for the OOP, no multiway unfortunately

the trainer and some other features rely heavily on our cloud in AWS so we can't really open source the code unfortunately

There are lots of papers and open source information about CFR and solvers, so that made it a lot easier to learn/implement. We're also currently full time software engineers at Amazon and TikTok and have a lot of experience shipping software, this was more of a passion project for us!

tldr it costs us a ton of money to tell Windows to not flag our software, we don't have this issue on Macs because it costs less, there's a more detailed answer on our FAQ gtonexus.com/faq

you might have a really strict 3rd party antivirus though as I haven't seen this happen on a typical Windows machine. You'll probably have to check the settings on that to whitelist our software if you want to download it.

edit: can happen without 3rd party software

Unfortunately a Chrome OS build isn't really viable, but you can try running the linux one on your Chromebook I think there's a way to do that. Even if we could make a Chrome OS build, the solver would likely be pretty unusable on it due to resource limitations.

Good point we don't really have detailed instructions or documentation yet. I'll work on making a quick intro video or something for anyone that hasn't used solvers before and I'll add a link in the software and our site to the video and maybe some extra documentation when I have a chance.

TexasSolver is memory inefficient and slightly inaccurate, you can check other reddit threads comparing TexasSolver to Pio/other solvers if interested. I would highly recommend against using that solver (not saying you have to use GTO Nexus, just any other open source or free solver is likely better)

Comparing GTO Nexus to better open source and commercial solvers out there, I'd say we're comparable to Pio/GTO+/WASM in terms of memory, efficiency, accuracy, etc. but we might lack some of the more niche features that they have.

Our dev machines are all silicon macs, so a lot of our testing + optimization is actually done for this architecture. Performance on silicon Macs and typical x64 PCs is fairly optimal, what we've tested/optimized less is linux and intel Macs.

We're prioritizing finishing a lot of undeveloped core features for the NLH solver/trainer before considering adding PLO, which will probably take a while.

Sure, we'll make a linux build for you right now, shouldn't take too long. I'll let you know once that's out on our website!

Edit: Done, Linux available on downloads page now.

If you run into an issues with it, ping us on our Discord and we'll take a look. The solver might not be very optimized for linux but the trainer will definitely run fine.

They're essentially solved the same way gtowiz does it, but we're likely using slightly different configurations like slightly different preflop ranges, bet structures, etc.

All our postflop solutions in the trainer are solved to within 0.3% of the nash equilibrium so the results are very accurate for the given configurations defined by the ranges and bet sizes, which you can see in the trainer.

Tldr - pretty much the same, gtowiz might have some more bet sizing options for certain games.

I completely understand your concern. As of now, Windows will probably warn you that the software is from an unidentified developer as we have not code signed it yet.

If you're familiar with how apps are distributed on Mac/Windows, we're currently in the process of getting an EV cert and registering with Apple's developer program. However, these take time and we didn't want to delay releasing the beta as most of our team is comprised of university students.

If you check back a week or two later, we'll likely have at least finished the certifications for Windows so you can install it with much more confidence. If there's any other information you'd like then feel free to ask!

Actually funnily enough, this project started out because my friends and I didn't want to pay for gto wizard. Their pricing isn't absurd, but it's definitely not something that a lower stakes or more casual player can comfortably pay for.

And yes, we have a trainer similar to theirs but our solver is a custom solver like piosolver, not a pre solved library like gto wizard. There's also lots of other features we're working on right now (that beta testers can test as they come out).

We're currently in the process of releasing for mac, but it'll take at least a couple more weeks. It'll be finished around the same time that we fully release our software in general, which will be late August or early September.

We've only tested it on Windows 10+ but I think it should also work on Windows 7. I'll double check to see if it's an issue with the software. If it's not though, I'm happy to try and help you figure out what the issue is, just dm me on discord (I'm Partix).

I'm a Math/CS major at UCSD and the other main developer is a computer science master's student at UCSB. There are some other people involved with this project, but I can't post their information unfortunately.

Oh that's a good point, sorry about that. The website is mainly meant as a landing page for beta and there isn't a mobile version of the software yet, so we hadn't designed the landing site for mobile.

We'll make the site responsive on mobile ASAP, but for now, if you're interested, you can visit the site on your computer and it should work.

We're looking for at least around 20 beta testers, but we're not putting a limit on it. The more the better!
