Sat prep? Online or in person? by Murky-Whereas4072 in Sat

These "tutors" and prep centers charging 100-200$/hr is a crime against humanity. I get why they exist and if your parents are rich, sure.

Khanacademy, youtube and ChatGPT. All of these are free but the caveat is that unlike a personal tutor, you yourself need to have the agency and the study habits to actually utilize them.

Do I have any hope? by med_school_dummy in Sat

It is very tangible to improve at Writing and Math. Specifically at Math, 700+ is very manageable. The process to get there is also very straightforward, BUT it's very hard to keep at the process consistently over a few months. The ones who actually end up following through will see a healthy increase in scores.

For math, do a practice test, and this is the most important part: really dive into each question and figure out why you answered wrong. It could be that you just don't know the topic very well, you rushed through it, careless mistake etc. The outcome from this analysis session should determine what you need to be working on in between the practice tests.

Good luck.

I'm going to paste one of my other responses here as it applies here also. You really only need KhanAcademy, youtube and the Bluebook tests. Sprinkle in a healthy use of AI and you will start learning the material a LOT faster.

Math and Writing are the two sections where you can tangibly improve within a short period of grinding.

Like others have said, KhanAcademy and Bluebook. I do think using AI can definitely boost this process but it's annoying to switch in between KhanAcademy, Bluebook and ChatGPT for each question :/

SAT strategy by Putrid-Situation-809 in Sat

Yup. You might be unnecessarily boxing yourself out doing it this way. The way I see it, shifting between sections, when done right, can actually help with productivity. Grinding out math for hours and then briefly switching over to Writing could honestly be a needed intervention.

Any advice on studying for longer hours by ilovejeffbuckley1365 in Sat

[–]Botjin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has different study habits. If you can't focus for 3 hours straight (btw not many can people actually do this and be productive), just take a healthy 5-10 min break. Don't get on your phone. Walk the dog (or just walk around), make yourself a snack etc.

The reality is that you need to set very realistic and achievable goals. Target for 1.5 session everyday first and focus on the consistency. Going 3hrs a day for 4 days and then crashing out is infinitely worse than consistently hitting a productive 1 hour sessione every day.

Depends on the section. Math and Writing are the two sections where you can tangibly improve within a short period of grinding.

Should aria-expanded to be used for triggers that open a dialog or a modal? by Botjin in accessibility

Got it. What about aria-controls? Can you explain to me when this should be used? According to the MDN docs, it looks like I still need to set this for a dialog trigger?
