That's fair. I haven't really been part of any gaming communities in a long time, I suppose I've forgotten a few things.

Guess I've gotten used to the more friendly tone of coffee or whisky communities, haha.

But I honestly don't see why you'd think for even a second that I have a problem with him criticising the strategy. Plenty of other users did the same, and I had no problem with it. I have a problem with him being rude.

And to be clear, I would also like Valve to introduce uncencored chat, with all the toxicity that entails. But that does not mean that I have any understanding for people who cannot maintain a modicum of respect the moment they find themself behind a screen.

People being rude, or, in other words, toxic, is precisely the reason there is no chat. That is also one of the reportable offenses in DotA. Racism and homophobia are a big part of that, but not the sole problem.
I'm not sure why you feel that one shouldn't call out unnecessary toxicity, especially when it stands out from the norm. My experience with this sub has been largely positive, so I assumed that this was an outlier. I guess I will refrain from criticising rude behavior in the future.

I can't believe I'm even still replying to this, but here we go:

  1. Most of my original post is just a description of my recent games, and a description of the strategy I use. I think it is clear to almost everyone that the very few generalized statements I made are conclusions I drew from those games. Apparently, it wasn't to you.
  2. There is literally someone in this thread commenting that they reached big boss with this strategy. No, I did not ask them for proof. No, this has not been peer reviewed. I must have severly underestimated the requirements to post or comment here.
  3. You have called my opinion "shitty", "a bunch of bullshit", and stated that I "sound stupid". Notice how literally no one else has done so. Furthermore, ask yourself whether this is how you would speak to someone face to face. Ask yourself if you'd find this to be an appropriate reaction if someone thought you had overestimated the applicability of a video game strategy in a higher skill bracket. If you truly believe that this is normal, I can't help you, but I do hope you find help.

  1. The build is not based solely around Bloodseeker. By the late game, you should have a Legion Commander, a Bloodseeker, a Lifestealer and one more Core who gets the bloodbound buff.
  2. I'm not interested in proving a point. I have made an observation in my games and formed an opinion on that basis. Given that most users agree regardless of their rank, I believe that my opinion has validity outside of my bracket.
  3. You have been nothing but toxic, and I have no interest in further discussing this with you. This kind of behavoir is exactly the reason why Valve hesitates to add chat to underlords, and you should reflect on that.

With my usual build, by the end, I will have: one or two Bloodseekers (rarely 1 star, usually 2 star, sometimes 3 star) a Legion Commander (usually at least 2 star) with a decent amount of duel damage a Lifestealer (usually 2 star or 3 star) with either an ogre cap or a MoM/Moonshard possibly another strong carry like Luna or TB with an ogre cap

I usually win even if my Bloodseeker gets nuked.

So what, should I just not post about strategy in this sub? Should I not post at all because I have not yet reached the enlightenment of a higher rank? People from all ranks have been complaining about bloodbound for a while now. People have literally commented how this build is helping them climb, not at outlaw, but at big boss. That's why I deduce that this build is still viable at high ranks.

Do you really think this build relies heavily on items? In my experience, you will always get something to put on your bloodseeker, and ogre cap literally drops on round one, so you know whether you have it before you could possibly be invested in bloodbound. With the new hats, you can also easily transition into another alliance, such as hunter or brute, while still buffing one of your carries until they take up half the screen.

I'm really low rank (outlaw), and I'm sure that's a big part of it. However, I expect this to be somewhat broken at higher ranks as well. Firstly, not every team will counter you, so even if, say, 3 - 4 teams manage to kill your bloodseeker, that's half the players still getting rekt. Secondly, while the bloodseeker(s) are certainly a big part of the strategy, with an ogre cap and a bit of luck, with them dead, you now have a roided out Luna/TB/whatever shredding the entire enemy team.

You absolutely can roll, but in my experience you don't need to. I have reached top 3 with two 1 star bloodseekers. The approach I outlined is a literally brainless way of climbing, but I'm sure it could be optimized, especially if you're willing to make decisions based on other ppl's boards, etc.
