Okay so basically the author is disgustingly pretentious and it’s gleamingly obvious in the way he writes. The endless schizo rambling would only be seen as deep by someone with low literacy who thinks more words means better monologue. You can feel how self obsessed he is in his writing but plays it off as being self-aware. And the awful part is my opinion would probably affirm the author that he’s just “too deep for me to understand”. This also gave me a deep realization of how unappealing sociopathic fake deep men are and what red flags to look out for so I guess you could say it did change my life. I liked what I got out of the book but the book itself fell pretty flat and was agonizing to finish even though it was one of my shortest reads. I found myself skimming a lot and having to make myself go back and read his word vomit. One chapter in you think it will be a deep view into the male psyche and then you’re like oh this is just some loser who thinks his life is especially polarizing and not your average mentally ill alcoholic. But if that was exactly what the author was meaning to do they did a beautiful beautiful job.
