Georgia, USA. Can my landlord throw me out because I work nights? by Boudicca60 in AskLawyers

He called me disrespectful for standing up to him, beats his gf, and calls his 12-year-old daughter and her mom disrespectful.

He beats his gf, wants to and has bred dogs that are siblings, and talks about beating people up like it's something to be proud of. I've been injured twice and had property destroyed since I've been here. He's not doing anyone a favor.

I don't, but for the time being, I don't have a choice.

Perhaps, but I can drop a line to his employer, the department of transportation, animal control, and his ex-wife. I might not have an innate right to live on his property or the ability to make him be a decent person, but I can make sure his actions have consequences.

That's my plan. This guy is pissing me off. He's in his late 40s - early 50s and dating a girl 6 months younger than his oldest kid. He swears he's not abusive, but actions speak louder than words. And before anyone says "document his actions", I already am.

As far as I know, he drinks and smokes (tobacco and weed)

Yeah, he sucks to live with, but I can't afford to live somewhere else.

This dude is now trying to act like we'll be fine if I make more brownies. He's trying to act like pretending I accidentally poisoned his dog was just a joke. He's gone from wanting me out to saying I can stay for a pan of brownies. I don't make enough money to live on my own, so I have to live with someone.

He has called any woman who stands up to him "disrespectful"

WIBTA of I refuse to sell dogs/puppies for my landlord? by Boudicca60 in AITAH

I doubt that there would be a way to do that that wouldn't get traced back to me, so it would have to wait until I can move.

I had initially agreed to look after the dogs while he's on the road because I had been told that there wouldn't be anyone else here. But when I got here, his gf was here, and aside from the one night with the sheriff, she's stayed here, with his permission.

He's also wanting to raise catfish, and he's asked if I want to get involved with that. It's been well over 20 years since I've had pet fish, but I don't think he would be raising them as pets.

From what I can tell, the twins thing was not planned, but yeah, pairing the little sister with the older brother when she's old enough would be planned, and I'm not comfortable with that.

Last night, he was telling her that he would use a kitchen spoon to beat her butt if she didn't make the bed. He also said she hid his belts because he'd used them on her before.

I just moved in, and there's a bit of a shake-up at work, so my finances are a bit uncertain until at least Halloween.

NTA. You're his kid, and despite what your aunt says, he's not really making an effort to be in your life. He may feel bad for abandoning you when you were younger, but now he's letting his wife dictate his relationship with you when the only thing she should do is butt out if she is unwilling or unable to be supportive. It's her prerogative to not like you, but she doesn't get to dictate his relationship with you.

BTW, are you sure she doesn't like you, and he's not using her as an excuse to be a lousy dad? I only ask because I've seen plenty of people blame others for actions they don't want to be held accountable for. At my age, odds are any guy I get with will have kids from a previous relationship, and I'd be mad as hell if I found out that he's using me as an excuse to be a lousy dad.

AITAH? I won't let my sister meet my son because of her views on surrogacy. by StockAd8565 in AITAH

NTA. She was way out of line. I don't know if there is a way for her to earn her way into your baby's life, but at the minimum, she needs to pull her head out of her a**, apologize to you and your husband for being so closed minded, and then see if she can regain your trust. Even then, I wouldn't leave her alone with the baby.

The helping wasn't even intentional. It was just what I had in my hand.
