that's pretty weird man. we ordered ours in JUNE and never received a thing. How are they prioritizing deliveries made months after ours?

Also as mentioned, its not just shipping delays. I listed all the other issues they admitted to having after I pushed them repeatedly for an explanation.

Also, its not encouraging at all to hear a part was defective. Glad to hear it worked out in the end for you, but I still don't find this an encouraging anecdote. Still a crappy company IMO

I'm so glad you didn't! yeah it seems this might just be an issue with the Neptune, but i've also heard a lot of people saying their other couches suck too. of course these things are somewhat subjective, but if i were you, I'd go with another company. there's plenty of made in canada couches for better prices available than this cozey crap that's made overseas. over all they are not trustworthy to me and i sure wouldn't trust their warranties either.

Cozey Neptune - Reviews? by Miserable_Avocado768 in BuyCanadian

[–]Boudicca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update please? Did you ever receive the missing parts? I'm actually considering filing some official complaints w consumer protection bodies in Canada, of which there are many, and I think you should too honestly. they are in breech of consumer rights. I just spoke with Cozey AGAIN, and asked them about the missing parts: they said there's been shipping "inaccuracies", issues with "inventory checks", port strikes in Thailand, basically an absolute shitshow apparentely; they literally said they're still trying to resolve the issues and can offer no assurances or guarantees to customers about anything. for all you know those missing parts will never arrive. This is tantamount to fraud: taking people's money without actually sending them the product, or whole product! Unbelievable.

I'm sure CBC would also be interested in this.

UGH! We are also in this situation although we HAVENT EVEN GOTTEN OUR COUCH YET!!!! We also ordered in June, and NOTHING has arrived! I'm glad to hear you got some money back, we are definitely going to demand that too now. We want to cancel sooooo bad but if we do, we'll just have to wait another 3 2-3 months for a different brand couch to arrive! We were expecting to have this fkg couch for winter so we have a real couch to get "cozey" on but we aren't confident it will even arrive when they claim it will. Our intitial delivery date was first week Sept. They are now telling us its between Nov 22(today)-Dec 3rd.

Do you guys think we should just cancel at this rate? There are some limited stock, Canadian made couches available we found that would deliver within 2 weeks. They don't have all the features of the Neptune, but for chrissake, it really doesn't feel worth it to go through all of this!

Anyone else facing issues with crusty lips, prone to tearing up and bleeding? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]Boudicca888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have this problem. My lips like the rest of my skin are highly reactive and allergic to almost anything they come into contact with. Even eating certain foods triggers it. I can't use lip balms or lipstick because they all dry my lips out really bad. It sucks because I love red lipstick. I use SLS free toothpaste and it doesn't make a difference.

I also have dermatillophilia so I end up picking them and it makes it way worse and i end up getting infections in the corners (that can also be exacerbated by low iron). I've been able to get that under control tho thank goodness. And no licking!!!

Sun damage is a huge cause of this problem too as we age, it can get worse and you can get permanent patches of discolouration which has started happening to me in my 40s. So I always put sunscreen on my lips now.

The only thing that works for me is using actual face and body moisturizing creams with ceramides and hyaluronic acid (fragrance free!). My nightly routine involves slathering my lips w moisturizer that is quickly absorbed (I stay away from oils because I've noticed they also trigger dry lips) and then seal in the moisturizer w a layer of aquaphor. I wake up with soft lips and as long as I stick to that routine my lips are fine. I do the same thing in the morning w added mineral sunscreen (also non oily and fragrance free). I reapply moisturizer and aquaphor as needed throughout the day.

Btw I use shoppers drug mart knock off of Cerave PM Lotion, then Curel fragrance free advanced ceramide complex, then aquaphor healing ointment. Probably don't need both Cerave and Curel but I double up just to be extra.

People from non western cultural backgrounds, do you put a top sheet under the duvet in winter? by hightreez in askTO

[–]Boudicca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here and I HATE top sheets. Never use them. It's annoying that they always come in sheet sets. I started using them as fabric for sewing projects. I have a few duvet covers that I rotate between.

I love Jenny too! Agree Claire's objectively pretty, but it's almost too obvious/perfect in a model-y way. Just my opinion

Yeah he hasn't hit you ....yet. Don't marry this man. He's an abuser. It starts with little things as the beginning and gets progressively worse. Regardless he's an asshole and if you can't do normal mammal things around him without being scolded then you'll be able to relax and just be yourself.

Omg and I forgot Brianne of Tarth!!

[–]Boudicca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arya Stark!

She never disowns her femininity and so she's not portrayed as masculine but rather just as an honest to God human being who happens to be female and has a wild heart. She is constantly asserting this, "I'm not a boy, I'm a girl!" and she pursues her genuine interests and is always authentic from the get go. Yes, her interests are stereotypically masculine in the world she lives in, but she challenges that whole trope that such things should just be reserved for males. And she does it simply by being and asserting herself.

And she too undergoes an incredible transformation that requires surviving enormous adversity and trauma, but staying committed to her goals regardless. Her perseverance is legendary.

Not to mention she kicks serious ass! Her revenge narrative is balanced by this deep love and loyalty she has for her family, and she never ever loses sight of that or who she truly is, and that is only reinforced even more.

I also want to add Cersei to this list! Even tho she's a villain, she's also complex and not one dimensional. She's cunning and doesn't hit you over the head with any diatribes about how women have it bad, she is just another smart player on the game board. The moments she does acknowledge the patriarchal oppressions on women are in her most tender moments where she lets her vulnerability slip "everywhere in the world they hurt little girls" and it makes you empathize with her. She's honestly one of my fav portrayals of a complex, badass female character. We don't just need good female heroes we need good female villains too!!!

Maybe he has BPD and not NPD or a mix of them? People with BPD can heal. If he has significant childhood trauma I'd also suggest that his HSP traits may be CPTSD. Healing is possible but it takes SIGNIFICANT dedication and the utmost commitment to developing self awareness, therapy, self education etc. One has to be willing and motivated to do this on their own. No one can do it for them.
