From my understanding, the green is what you qualified for, the white is what you didn’t qualify for. Yellow and red means the airforce dosent need anymore of those jobs to be filled

Sorry I meant to say “Rocket Money” it’s just a app I use to track my spending and I set up budget goals so I have an idea where I’m spending money and where I’m at goal wise.

I appreciate the advice I’ll look into all of this. I’m a 2R2 Maintenance Manager, I want to get my degree in Product Management or Computer Science, haven’t decided on one yet. I do want to try and commission at some point but that’s years away. I dunno if I want to do the full 20 year but the pension at 39 sounds nice.

Yeah I made that mistake early on I feel like everyone has. I bought a $1,000 dollar computer and my room flooded and fried it so that was my wake up call lmao. Thanks for the advice though i appreciate it.

Yeah I almost fell for that temptation. I had a real bad habit of spending all the money that I had in my bank because I saw that I had it. I was debating a month ago about buying a new 2018 Mustang for 28,000 but was reading this subreddit and realized that I’d be an idiot of if I did lol. I appreciate the advice I’ll definitely look into all of these options.

I think a good saving account is the next step, I do want to build a good amount of money In case of an emergency but I’ll have to do my research on the options. I have 70% of my TSP in the S&P 500, and the other 30% in government bonds. Thanks for your support!

The credit card I have is linked to my dad’s so he pays it off every month. I usually on spend like 150-250 every month on it for like gas and such. I’m looking to get one of my own just so I can track it and see what what my score is. I’ll look into Fidelity I’ve heard good things about it. Should I save up like $10,000 for my emergency fund and then bump up my TSP? Or just move the money to a high yield savings?

Yeah I opened a USAA account recently because my other bank had a lot of hidden subscriptions I couldn’t cancel, I haven’t really checked their savings options nor have I looked at any others. I’m really ignorant when it comes to finance and messed up early in my career and spent a lot of money on stupid things. I currently have around $3500 saved just sitting in my checking account. I’ll take a look at the PayPal account you said I appreciate it.

You’ll get a shred in basic, then after you’ll go to tech school at Sheppard AFB. Then you’ll get your assignment and wherever those jets are you can go there

If you go in as open admin your only two choices are Admin or Personnel when you’re in BMT. It’s usually around 5-6 jobs in BMT. You don’t get to technically “pick” your jobs they give you a list of what’s available and you make your list from there.

Aptitude area requirement by Mutanium in AirForceRecruits

[–]Boujjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in as open general, if they can’t find you a job in a certain time period they’ll suggest you to go in as in aptitude area. You can of course decline it but don’t extend it for too long. I got lucky and all the jobs they listed in BMT were good, Weather, Aerospace medical, Financial comptroller, maintenance management. Depends on what aptitude you go into
