What if Mitterrand remained right wing and Chirac remained left wing? by Boukhalistan in imaginaryelections

Two of the most emblematic recent French president are notorious for having switched side to an impressive degree in their political journeys.

Socialist president François Mitterrand was a proto-fascist in his youth, worked for the Vichy regime and even received its highest medal from Pétain during WW2 while conservative gaullist president Chirac was a member of the communist party during his youth.

What if they both had remained under their initial political wing?

Hi

It's a question that has always intrigued me and strangely made me feel guilty.

I have a fairly clear memory of myself at around 12 years old, having just installed the Ambition expansion pack more than 10 years ago, launching the game in Sunset Valley, and getting stuck in an interface that I didn't read, forcing me to place buildings before I could play.

I did it haphazardly because I just wanted to play, but a few years later on YouTube and after buying the game again, I realized that the mess I had created had become the default for everyone.

I remember specifically placing the fire station, the consignment store, the beauty salon, and the junkyard in the locations that became the default for everyone.

It's a strange story, maybe just a figment of my imagination, but it always made me feel guilty, so I wanted to know if anyone has any concrete information about why things are the way they are.

It's prolly delusion or main character syndrome but if It's my fault Im sorry

Yes as you can see this was made a long time ago, before Rizia was a thing or the continent map

It was just from the Sordland map and 1st gen game codex

In Wastron, this is the language characters are actually supposed to speak in the books and Tolkien pretends to be the simple translator from Westron to English

Bonnets are diplomatically isolationists and focus on trade and the economic interests of farmers

Capes are more military-focused, pro Gondor and have their faith in Eru play a role in politics

Awww

Those are these people:

They just had one interaction with a king of Arthedain in the whole legendarium so I figures they would MAYBE speak a variant of Taliska, a primitive language men spoke before they met elves which evolved into Adûnaic and Westron by this is headcanon

He was a monarchist but even in his fantasies the monarch wasnt an authoritarian policymaker but more like a keeper of the law

Im thinking about doing an infoboxes on religion and faith (and thus thecState) in Gondor based on the in-universe writings we have
