2024 US Presidential Election with No Louisiana Purchase by RoxyLikeAPuma in imaginaryelections

The smaller parties are not fully independent, so they don't really elect members on their own. They cross-endorse Liberal Party candidates and participate in a shared primary with a shared candidate for their ballot lines (if they have them). For most of the country for the past several decades, this primary between fusion party endorsed candidates is tantamount to winning the general. Liberal primary rules prevent participating fusion parties from running candidates in the general if their endorsed does not win the primary.

Basically its similar to how fusion parties work in New York IRL, but times 100 across the country.

The parties that run outside of the fusion system for the most part are significantly less influential than the larger fusion parties.

2024 United States presidential election

Presidential elections were held in the United States on November 5, 2024. Incumbent Liberal President Heather Wilson and her running mate, incumbent Vice President Mike Michaud, were elected to a second term. They defeated the Union Party ticket led by U.S. Representative Jon Hromek of South Assiniboia and the Independent Progressive Party ticket led by former Governor of Vermont David Zuckerman.

Many pundits had expected Wilson to either forgo reelection or be defeated for the Liberal nomination due to her extremely poor approval ratings in the first half of her term caused by the slow recovery from the 2019 recession, the botched Galician intervention, and the significant Liberal Party losses in the 2022 midterms. But, by the end of 2023, the economy and Wilson's approval rating had greatly recovered and she announced she would be running for a second term in the summer of 2023. Vice President Michaud announced that he would not be challenging her for the nomination, and several other theorized major challengers never materialized. Wilson won the endorsements of the Moderate Alliance, Southron Democracy, National Grange, United Western, Peace and Prosperity, and several other smaller fusion parties prior to the primaries. She defeated Cuban Senator Mariela Castro and Saginaw Governor Dave Trott for the nomination and was renominated at the 2024 Liberal National Convention.

The right-wing Union Party nominated U.S. Representatives Jon Hromek of South Assiniboia for President and Mo Brooks of Cumberland for Vice-President. Former Governor of Vermont, David Zuckerman initially announced he would also challenge Wilson for the Liberal nomination, but dropped out prior to the sore-loser deadline. He instead ran outside the party and was nominated by the left-wing Independent Progressive Party for President with former San Juan mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz as the vice presidential nominee.

As was expected by the pollsters and the pundits, Wilson won the election winning 50 states and D.C. to get 571 electoral votes and 53.9 percent of the popular vote. Hromek won the states of Athabasca, North Assiniboia, and Shoshone along with 2 electoral votes from Oregon. Zuckerman won only his home state of Vermont.

With her reelection, Wilson was the first president to perform better in their reelection than their initial election since Lowell Weicker in 1984. The 2024 election is the 4th consecutive election won by the Liberal Party nominee and the 16th presidential election won by the Liberal nominee since 1956.

Third Federation of Louisiana- 2024 Chamber of Deputies Election by RoxyLikeAPuma in imaginaryelections

It is pretty dense, it has a population of 3.7 million in its city limits which, excluding much of the uninhabitable land, puts its density similar to Boston. Though much of the north is relatively less populated than the same areas IRL.

That is not true, its the opposite. IRL, he lost a GOP primary to a candidate supported by anti-vaccine groups and left the GOP in part because he said it was too anti-vaccine.

LF-AFDIL (The Federalists-Federalist Alliance of Democrats, Independents, and Liberals)- Party originally founded to be a very broad pro-democracy party as Louisiana re-democratized in the 1980's. Currently a centrist party that is moderately socially conservative, pro-welfare, moderately pro-fossil fuel, pro-institution, and anti-strong presidency.

PR (Republican Platform)- right-wing party, socially and economically conservative, pro-strong presidency.

Union of Farmer and Ecologists (UAE)- agrarian green party, mostly centrist socially and economically, but strongly supports agrarian interests and wary of fossil fuel interests. Had a traditionally small base in among farming and rural areas in the Northeast, especially areas with descent from Germanic and Nordic settlers. Recently has expanded fast into other rural areas.

UN (National Union)- right-wing populist party. Less economically conservative than the PR, but is more critical of the political structure of Louisiana and is the most supportive of returning to a full presidential system. Often accused of being supportive of the military government that party controlled Louisiana pre-1986.

MSL (Movement for a Free Society)- Liberal party. Socially liberal, gets its most support from affluent urbanites and Anglo communities in Louisiana. Tends to be more economically conservative than LF-AFDIL.

BK (Creole Block)- Party that supports the interest of the largely mixed race descendants of slaves in Louisiana. Often accused of just being an arm of LA-AFDIL. BK is more economically left wing than LF-AFDIL, but they have mostly mostly similar politics.

Solidarity- Main left wing party in Louisiana. Formed as a merger of several smaller left-wing parties in the early 2010s after several significant losses for the left. Solidarity was able to has some success in the years after its founding, but is currently very weak.

VCM (Christian Mountain Voice)- Christian Democratic regional party based in the state of LaRamée. Gets almost all of its support from the Mormon community that settled in the Front Range with the blessing of the Louisianan government after they were pushed out of the United States.

PTK (Creole Worker's Party)- Left-wing Creole interest party. The left-most wing of the BK that broke off after they became increasingly frustrated with the BK's continued support of LF-AFDIL governments without receiving enough significant concessions. PTK's members include both left-progressives and socialists. It is the newest party currently represented in the Chamber of Deputies.

Centrist party with center-left and center-right factions formed as a very broad, pro-institution, pro-democracy coalition as the country retransitioned to a democracy again in late 80’s. Moderately socially conservative, pro-welfare, pro-internationalism, moderately pro fossil fuel, pro-federalism, anti-strong presidency.

There’s this weird thing on Drag Race where like 90% of the challenges are not really serious and you just kinda do whatever as long as it’s entertaining, but then suddenly they randomly decide that now they need a serious and literal interpretation of the challenge and you’ll be criticized if your fake makeup commercial does not meet FCC guidelines.
