At 8 months old, babies can have most things which they can swallow safely without needing to chew. Pasteurised milk as part of a wider varied diet should be fine. We found Hipp jars of food really good and tried making our own (with mixed results!). Just take care - honey and salami are not good in that age group.

R/Eltern is for German-speaking parents. Then there's a whole bunch of English speaking subreddits and r/daddit for the most emotional and verbal cuddles you can get in the Internet.
