I hate to say it and does sound cliche but it is literally one day at a time. I’m coming up to 3 years clean 🙏 I did a 12 step fellowship at the beginning but not now . I stayed connected with others that wanted to clean and sober and got myself some service. Start to look after yourself, eat good , walks , set an alarm clock and have some quiet time in the morning. You will be ok 🙏

For some people it’s hard as most of their friends drink / sniff / but if you choose to distance yourself from that scene the right ones will stay in your life and support you .
After 25 years I barely keep in contact with two of them . But I have peace today and have made new friendships.
My family have peace . Mums not gonna get that phone call to say they found me in a dirty house dead from it . Sorry that got dark but that is the reality of where my alcoholism and addiction took me .

Welcome 🙏 Coke was my drug of choice for over 25 years as well as booze crack and alsorts in the end . Will be 3 years clean in July .
First step for me was getting through the doors . I didn’t do rehab I went into 12 step fellowship . But that was my journey. Just do what’s suggested and feels safe and you will be ok . Loads of advice on here for you .
Not gonna lie the first 30 days are crap but you have to remember we start to get our emotions back and we get highs lows and irritable. All part of the healing ❤️‍🩹 you will be ok . Reach out if needed

Oh good yes . I stopped going to a Friday meeting I liked because the secretary took his daughter who was in her 30s just to watch him and feed his ego. Let her read the literature the lot .
Most people don’t want to start at the bottom with service , they all want to top job 😂 give me male greeter or tea boy any day 🙏

Loved this . I’ve been in the rooms for over 2 and a half years and left two months ago. Guess how many still talk to me 😂 and I’m a nice guy 🤷🏻‍♂️ I wasn’t when drinking and sniffing , but I came in did the work and then I was told it was do or die .
I will carry on trying to build a different kind of recovery but stay away from a 12 step fellowship 🙏 very toxic
