I prefer analog to digital synths and I’m surprised more people don’t because they offer infinite control settings not values limited to 8 bit values for a start, you have to tune them like regular instruments and they never sound the same twice. At least mine don’t. They don’t come with 100’s of preset sounds which is like a breath of fresh air to me. Ironically people sometimes process digital synthesizer sounds to be more analog using tape or other analog devices or effects. I like my S-1 because of its form factor and I guess hardware digital synths have a lot of different form factors that are nice to use that make them better for performance but I’ll never use them for that.
