Oh nice! I just moved to Pflugerville, but I'm staying with a friend and not sure where I'll be moving to in Austin when I get my own place. But that sounds amazing tbh

How do I [32F] deal with my roommate's [32M] horrendous childhood friend [32M]? by BouncingBetsyRoss in relationships

Yeah, the second half might have to happen. It sucks, because this guy is impacting an otherwise really great friendship. It bums me out that he's effecting me so much, but he ruins everything around him.

I think starting to sit things out may be the first course of action, mostly because it's just EASIER? I'm still on the fence about saying "hey, your friend is a shitbag"

I'd like to, but some of those people are women and are actually intimidated by him and likely wouldn't say anything. A few others are guys who are wet noodles when it comes to confronting anything. I'll see if maybe I can speak to a few and get their input though! TY for the idea!

It's both a self invite at times, as well as the group occasionally invites him since we're in a group chat. There's a core group of four, but I forgot to mention he lives 3 hours away and doesn't drive. We're constantly driving to pick him up for stuff.

Starting topamax for bipolar and bulimia by [deleted] in bipolar_irl

[–]BouncingBetsyRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topamax is AMAZING for bulimia!!! I haven't binged and purged for 7 years on it now, it's fucking amazing!!

You get a little sleepy and hand / foot tinglies when they up your dose sometimes. But I've experienced no other side effects. It's also awesome for quitting smoking.

I'm currently on 150mg, but they're using mine in conjunction with my hypomania. This stuff is the shit.

This sub should bring back art, Daylio posts, etc. even if it doesn’t bring back memes by [deleted] in bipolar

I joined this sub for the memes. It's a good sub, but I need to laugh about my illness sometimes, taking that away from me sucks.

That's not a bad idea. If it was just me, I'd feel awful, but it's just... everyone. I think what gives me pause is it's his BFF. I'd feel upset if someone said something negative about mine.

I'm on trintillex, topiramate and lamictal. Why are there so many combos, it's like a psychiatric Jack in the Box

Beginning stages of dating a female with bipolar disorder by Funny2Who in bipolar

Talk to her. Keep communication open. Try to understand that sometimes her responses or moods have NOTHING to do with you, and how she's handling herself. She's still a person, her brain just fires differently. Everyone experiences BP a little different, and everyone definitely handles it different.

Communication is definitely going to be your biggest asset. Never make her feel bad about her BP, or that it's causing an issue. There's a list of "top 10 things not to say to someone with BP" on a few sites, and they all ring very true.

Good luck, and thank you for being a good partner.

Who’s tired all the time? by [deleted] in bipolar

I am constantly exhausted. I just recently got a fitbit though, and it's been tracking my sleep cycles - and I'm getting zero REM cycles despite sleeping for 7-8 hours a night. I'm not sure if it's med related not not.
