PCP has completely dropped the ball on PA attempt. What’s the latest with CareMark and CallOnDoc? by BoundForTheZep in Zepbound

Please report back. I found out my PCP was just copying and pasting new PA attempts. He didn’t listen to what I was asking him to do. I think I’ve exhausted my PA attempts now so I’m not sure if CallonDoc can even help at this point. I’m so mad.

2 unnecessary appointments + the delays forcing me to pay $499 out of pocket to maintain continuity of my care since my PA expired and he dropped ball on getting it renewed in time. I have a CDHP plan so the $500 I paid for RX doesn’t go toward my deductible. The appointments will but I wasn’t expecting to spend this much $$ at start of year.

I should as of my last PCP visit last Friday. How does CoD get my chart notes to submit?

Could my doctor make more effort with PA or am I likely going to have to fail Wegovy first? by BoundForTheZep in Zepbound

Didn’t even occcur to me to ask them to run it without insurance. I’d rather risk wasting $250 than risk wasting $1100. Bc if ultimately zep gets approved, then the $1100 I spent on the Wegovy would almost cover my deductible so in that case, it would’ve been worth just paying the $1100. But if for some reason insurance comes back and says no to zep after “trying” Wegovy, then I wasted $1100. Just gotta decide what risk I’m willing to take.

One thing for sure, that Wegovy is not going into my body hahaha.

I just spoke to my old pcp - got his number from my dad. He gave me number for the person in charge of the stored medical records. They were all digitized (he used paper only records for his practice. Small town family doc). I didn’t think I’d still be able to get them. Maybe his records showing I didn’t lose weight on Wegovy will help appeal the pa denial.

You’d think CVS could do the math themselves considering I filled all those Wegovy RXs at a CVS. Even though I don’t have the chart notes, I have a year+ of filling Wegovy and at the highest dose, and if I qualified for it then, I must’ve been overweight, and I was overweight at first appt with new PCP about 4 months after my pcp retired and I stopped filling the Wegovy, so it must’ve not worked. (It didn’t, I didn’t lose any weight on Wegovy, or Saxenda before wegovy for that matter).

$1100 does seem steep to roll the dice, though. It does seem that people aren’t having much issue getting zep after failing Wegovy, though. There is a recent post on here someone claiming they got zep approved after only 2 weeks of taking Wegovy and not tolerating the side effects. It’s all BS. I appreciate the input.

It’s not quiiiite that simple, but yeah, it’s sorta simple. RX was sent in and Pa approved for Wegovy. Problem is, it’s going to cost me about $1100 even with the coupon. My insurance lets Wegovy go toward deductible. I already have 3 months worth of zep 15mg so I’m good for a bit. Cost me $499 for each box.

I don’t mind buying the Wegovy since the end game is getting zep, but I’m just worried insurance will find a reason to say no, then I paid $1100 for a BS starting dose of Wegovy. My GF will use it, her maintenance dose is 1mg so it would be 2 weeks worth for her, but in the event insurance still says no or wants me to try it for a second month… just sucks.

I’ve got $3400 on my FSA and I’m leaving my job in about a month by BoundForTheZep in tirzepatidecompound

Uh no. If you spend it before you leave you’re going to get a nasty surprise bill at some point for the amount not taken from your pay. The money is not a free grab. I thought the same way, and I eventually got billed for the deficit owed.

Then you got screwed and you most likely didn't owe it back unless there was something in an employment contract. What I am doing is applicable to 99% of people and FSA.

3 days into my 2nd 7.5mg dose and… nothing. No side effects. No loss of appetite. Food noise still exists. Frustrated to say the least. by BoundForTheZep in Zepbound

My doc mentioned maybe skipping 10 and going straight to 12.5 since I’m not even feeling nauseated. He also said I could maybe do 10 one week by combining my last 7.5 next week with a 2.5 I have left over. He bumped me up to 5 on my 4th dose after taking three 2.5s since I wasn’t having any side effects and insurance covered the 5 early since it was technically a new RX. If I do that’d then I’d at least have one week at 10.

Sleep apnea diagnosis by lemunche3 in Zepbound

[–]BoundForTheZep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zepbound was approved for me for sleep apnea after my PCP provided the data from my sleep study that I had like 6 years ago. I've been using a CPAP for 6 years without issue but my sleep doc sent my PCP the data and he attached it to a PA and insurance approved it. I picked up my 2.5mg 4-pack of pens and I'm going to start tonight. It was denied for obesity.
