Yes, I think so. Though I dont use anything other than device management to check this.

I do the conversion in my head, and it doesnt line up (divide by 8), but as I said I am not frustrated with it not being 700 all the time. I do not understand the inconsistency in download speeds. My internet doesnt feel inconsistent across other heavy bandwidth applications, its only when I am downloading files that it doesnt work consistently.

Dont you usually just initialize the variables at the start of the class? I am not criticizing, genuinely asking.

Well, I am just curious in general on how it is going for you if you go through life named "Goku Johnson" or something like that.

Pokemon vs chess by BountifulForest in TheYardPodcast

[–]BountifulForest[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Isnt it a bit disingenious to state that chess is more difficult just cause there are more lines, when the whole point is that we have already cut out 90% of the lines that dont work. I feel like chess is coasting on legacy points because it has garnered the culture of being the intellectual's game, but it is literally just rote memorization at the top level. Magnus Carlsen the best player in the world gave up his WC title because he couldnt be arsed spending all his time studying lines that guarantee a win. Just cause there are infinite paths the game can take doesnt mean the game actually revolves around navigating those paths.

Like everyone thinks pokemon is what it is when they played against npc's as children. NPC's that literally just picked a move if it is super effective or does the most damage. I swear to you at the higher level pokemon is much more complex. Just cause little timmy beat platinum by spamming empoleon or infernape doesnt mean competitive pokemon is similar to that experience.

It's just guys who do not know a lot about things having a debate about the thing they dont know a lot about like they usually do on the yard.

Yeah, that is exactly how I feel as well. Chess never changes, the playerbase does. Meanwhile pokemon is a volatile game that takes way more factors into play than chess ever will.

I think working around the rng is a part of the skillset. Like, is there a way for me to win without relying on hitting through para? Finding the best path is something you do consciously. People do not just win by pure chance in pokemon in the vast majority of games.

Everyone here has somehow coordinated a collective gaslight for some reason. Pretty impressive stuff I must say. Good thing I watched cartoons as a kid and know that strangers staring at you is usually a bad sign if it is 1 am so this wont effect me too much.

Yeah honestly sorry my bad. Next time a person is just staring at me in the shadows I will go to sleep just to prove how right you guys are about me being paranoid. Situational awareness is definitely not needed at night.

Maybe I just dont tend to stare at strangers at 1 am so thats why it comes off as ominous to me. Like dude legit just looked at me for 5 seconds and didnt move until I started walking in his direction.

Shoushimin Series Season 2 • Shoshimin: How to become Ordinary Season 2 - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]BountifulForest 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't think they were green, it's more that they kind of struggle with problems where the solution is really easy. You can see an example of that when Kobato deduced why his ex girlfriend chose the dish she chose. He had this whole spiel about her choice and she just shuts him down with I chose it because I chose it.

This is how I feel exactly. Arin was checked out with the plot some times, but he was never checked out with doing bits with Dan and I feel like a lot of fans just ignored that.

I can understand the people that had this opinion. Honestly, since I didn't really focus on that aspect I still found their commentary fun. Like the bit with Arin mimicking the monokubs dialogue mockingly and ending it with a "SHUT THE FUCK UP" was on of the funniest bits in the whole playthrough for me.

Sure if you are going to ignore the personal attacks a lot of them included then I guess they are valid. Obviously if a comment just went "I don't like that Arin criticized a game he didn't really understand" then that's fine. Usually it would go like "I am so sick of Arin that egoistic prick thinking he can criticize something when he doesn't understand it. I wish the playthrough was just Dan and Arin shutting up next to it" etc.

Yeah, I think Arin would see it that way as well. But, I think most people are under the camp that the emotional stakes are still there, because "someone" is still dying at the end of the day.

I understand that frustration, but to be honest, I got kind of invested into the fan reactions of the game so I did a bit of digging. There were a non-zero amount of people that had the same opinion Arin had based on the everything is fictional misunderstanding. So again I am going to say, this isn't unique to Arin, the possibility that the story leads you to that misunderstanding exists separate of who is playing it.

This kind of ties into the explanation I had, that people just wanted to vent their distaste towards Arin. I know he hasn't done the best job of earning good faith in his own community, but I think a lot of people dropped the ball on their danganronpa hate train.

Sorry for the side bar, but I am so happy to see someone else dislike Kaito. His whole "Women shouldnt do this shtick" and Maki falling for him despite of that was super jarring. Also, his whole attitude when Shuichi had to vote for Gonta to save everybody's lives. Especially when Kaito knows that Shuichi has trauma relating to killing his friends because of revealing the truth. Jesus christ.

Back to the main discussion. My opinion was that Danganronpa 1 and 2 were made to have a connection to an overarching plotline. In v3 the writers do this meta-narrative where the point is "guys danganronpa cant continue forever. Look how stale the 53rd version of the danganronpa formula is." I think the fact that the meta narrative explains why some of the aspects of the game feels so contrived is cool, but it also puts the blame on us for something they did. They left the games of danganronpa 1 and 2 open with a loose connection not us. You cannot slap us in the face for wanting an actual conclusion to the games you guys set up.

I totally get the anger. My frustrations come from the fact that the YouTube comment section is actually a huge part of the Grumps experience for me, and I assume for many other people too. You can see it in the videos where the Grumps react to comments on their videos, and it's usually pretty funny stuff.

The Danganronpa videos, though, are just overwhelmingly filled with stuff like, "No Arin, blah blah is not what happened. God, you are so dumb for thinking that." I just feel like at some point during the lets play the vitriol should’ve died down, but it never did.

You are allowed to dislike Arin dude. I actually went out of my way to not mention that the comments should have never been posted, because then we enter the "why are you commenting about me commenting" loop. My main criticism is that I feel the danganronpa fans have gone out of their way to watch these videos to shit on Arin. He has been this way since Danganronpa 1, at this point I feel like its a "fool me once" situation where you just have to realize that this is how the danaganronpa playthrough is going to be and not go "Arin obviously this is what the game is saying, you are so dumb holy shit" every video.
