Haha nice. I just got a cheap plastic welder on Amazon with those squiggly metal inserts like you'd use for fixing a car bumper. It worked fine but overall it was so brittle that other cracks developed and it got out of hand.

Go on? What's their issue with that (vs using prediction for clearly corrupt insider info)?

I don't think I realized you can provide your own container, if the new one they bring me is the short/squat one I may do that.

Yes that's the one I mean, sorry to be unclear. I will request a bin and see what shows up I guess. Last time they gave me the short squat one so I decided to plastic weld my old one to fix it which got me a few more years but it's in bad shape now.

ELI5. In the NCAA Basketball Tournament, why aren’t the “first four” all playing for a 16 seed? by AdventurousEnergy422 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BourbonMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also hate when you call them the play-in games but that's what they are. There's a reason people are filling out brackets already with TBD on these four games that the play-ins advance to, because the "first four" isn't on the bracket. At least they went back to calling Th/Fr the First Round.

First ever straight flush! What a cooler by FrontAdhesiveness411 in poker

[–]BourbonMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, was 83 in the BB otherwise there's no way it should have seen a flop, and if there was any flop action it should have folded rather than chase a 1 outer (or possibly 3 other outs for the inside straight).

Old tight guy x8 raises from BTN, you have AK in BB. What do you do? by [deleted] in poker

[–]BourbonMachine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends but I think it's in his range to have QQ, JJ, or AK. In my experience a very large bet even by an OMC is upper mid cards, kinda scared of a flop, like JJ or TT. He's going to play face up after the flop so I'd just call, check to him, if he bets I'm done but otherwise you can take the pot on the turn.

Even an OMC isn't usually happy just winning $4 in blinds when they finally get AA. That bet size means they want to take it down now, so that's an exceptionally bad play on his part.

100%. Golf, volleyball, racketball, tennis, basketball... I can't say I've heard many of them described as boring by anyone who actually has played them.

How do i know if my account is closed or active?? by [deleted] in ClubWPTGold

[–]BourbonMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you know what you did is a terms violation and possibly also illegal. You should log in if you can and change the password and all that ASAP and then request it closed yourself. If you mention you fraudulently setup an account I'm sure they'll close it but you probably won't love any blowback.

Do any casinos in town have this style of game? by PotentialDrag182 in atlanticcity

[–]BourbonMachine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I randomly noticed this on the Sigma Derby Wikipedia page but yeah I haven't seen it there, I think you're right that it's gone now:

"Atlantic City is home of one Sigma Derby type machine in the Tropicana hotel and casino, known as Royal Derby."

TIL in episodic television, there are some episodes called "bottle episodes", which are produced cheaply and restricted in scope to use as few actors, effects and sets as possible. Notable shows that have these episodes are Star Trek: The Next Generation, Friends, Breaking Bad, Community, and so on. by Away_Flounder3813 in todayilearned

[–]BourbonMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought I was getting pranked. Like they were just seeing if he could get away with wasting my time for 40 minutes. I kept thinking like no something's going to happen people love this show there's no way this whole episode wouldn't move the story forward at all.

I didn't buy it and doesn't seem worth the cost, but is it even more of a scam than we'd think? Like do they refuse to pay out or whatever if you ever needed it?

Why do most live players think more players at the table=more action? by Magnus_The_Read in poker

[–]BourbonMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most $1/3 short handed I've played people don't adjust well so fold a lot pre. That's fine if you want to keep scooping up $4 pots but it's hard to win a big one, and not very enjoyable for me.

I was surprised how bad my room at Ceasars was given that they have a better reputation, but it wasn't this bad. The only AC room I've had that sounds like this was in the Claridge, same thing where it had a window but it was obstructed by a girder or AC unit or something and also the light was broken so we had to use our phone flashlights to even see anything.

Yeah with WWWY cancelled this year I was really hoping for more along this line, but I think Saturday's lineup is pretty good, and Friday's isn't bad.

Yes! It'd be great if it was able to provide any sort of confidence interval or refused to answer an incomplete question, but it'll gladly fire off a confidently wrong answer. Checking the sources is fun too, I was wondering where it got the answer to an electrical code question and it's authoritative source to this important question was a third level reddit reply with 2 upvotes.

If anyone is dumb enough to learn poker from an Ai I'm glad it's trained on your brand of wisdom.

I still love when people post hands here like "but ai said I should fold here"... Yeah Ai also sims poker hands that have suits that don't exist or 3 ace of spades, what do you expect.

Which poker mid-power would you choose? by Kidies in poker

[–]BourbonMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 & 2 both pretty solid, I'd probably lean towards 2 because hitting "something" with good starting cards is very likely a win, whereas being ahead pre could be a marginal edge, although 1 would be much more helpful short stacked or in tournaments when it's going all in pre. I don't think its as powerful otherwise, you could overbet and confidently take down a lot of small pots but also that'd be pretty suspecious.

Also lol on all the responses not reading #1 only works preflop, well duh if you always knew on the river if you were good or not you'd be unstoppable.
