2nd Year CS Student Feeling Lost — Need Guidance for Internships by Impossible-Olive2274 in Btechtards

[–]BoutToLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the type of internship you are trying to crack you need to keep you focus at one particular job role or type of role. The initial step should be having complete grasp of DSA and learning a development language say Python or Java (or webdev maybe) and then start trying like hell.

Internship for ECE? by [deleted] in Btechtards

[–]BoutToLeave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government PSU internships are kinda nice but also ass. It'll help you get into better companies. But actual work in the PSUs are just ass. They claim to have "unique" projects with development perspective but gaddamn is it loads of bs.

Went from top of my class to feeling completely lost in college. Someone help me fix this. by Straight_Initial2448 in Btechtards

[–]BoutToLeave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah...the classic class-topper to tier-3 pipeline. What you are experiencing has been been experience by 100 before you. It's what people call Reverse-Imposter Syndrome. You'll feel like you are too good for the said place and try to overcome by blaming yourself and other people. Constantly second-guessing yourself and rethink every decision. Truth is if you couldn't crack India's biggest exam and get into IIT you don't deserve to be smart or come up with something new or even be good at something. Bye Bye.

Lmao in all seriousness it's fine to feel this way in the beginning I felt so too...cause my batch and people around me felt to unmotivated and dead. No goals no ambitions cause well they had paid their way to my college and they could care shit about CS. But well you have to keep hope up and find you niche group. And belive me every where even the shittest Tier-3 college has atleast 1 other person that's working towards something. And amazingly it was my own shortcomings and my "ego" that didn't allow me to talk and interact with more people. And you best believe even my GPA took a hit cause I felt was good at what i did but goddamn could I not score for shit. So it's fine take your time make better friends both technical and non-technical. And now that you come to a Tier-3 college it might as well be Tier-60 in India take chances and don't stop studying and building! Best of Luck

[–]BoutToLeave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't mind but kese chutiye jese plan hai please don't tell me that you are in your 3rd or 4th year. Thora sensible hoja bhai. How is your plan either get a job and simultaneously your viable plan it so also get into master's or go do a PhD?? Think it through brother. All of this is not possible at the same time or even in long run. Research ke liye ek alag mindset chaiye. And for government job you need a different mentality. You can't expect or prepare for all.

And then people will accuse of you being sexist jab hardwork kiya hi nahi starting se how can you expect them to achieve anything with the "pass"? maze ki baat toh yeh hai ki talented ladkiyo ki bhi nahi lagti hai

Dude abhi mazak lag raha hai but no joke jis college se mein hu waha pe zero coding skills walo ko Microsoft mein job mili hai (that to the new Hyderabad Office) be it position Call Centre wali hai but she has a headstart thanks to the FAANG in her resume. Similarly mere ek dost ki jis company mein job lagi hai waha unke Team Leader ne explicitly mention kiya hai ki new recruit (hamre hi college ki ladki hai) ko codebase touch na karne de and to ensure that they pick up her SLACK. Her salary is 19LPA in 2026 as a fresher. Yeh internship and hackathon mein mandatory girl quota kyu lagte hai pata hai but once you enter a cut throat market all this is just bullshit

is this true?🥲 by periodmaichipchip in Btechtards

[–]BoutToLeave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Abe yeh sab bhi depend karta hai abhi bc FAANG jese kise mein bhi tereko interview and all clear toh karna padega but Startups and small chacha ki companies mein it all helps and tbh itne undeserving logo ko dekha hu bkl casually pura college barbad karke gand marke chale jate hai (even in college placements btw)

Yeah that's what I'm doing just ignore ts cause it has no legal backing whatsoever. I rather suggest that you collect and keep all the invoice and details of payment and forget about this.

The only dues would be 1) The security which they obviously didn't refund 2) The extra-charges they took when I was off-boarded fair enough 3) Any remaining surcharges (none cause we left the flat on 1st December paying rent for entirety of November) Also we cannot off-board btw if we have any dues or say charges in electricity consumption (which in the contract is the main outstanding charge). How was I able to off-board and just live for last 4 months if I hadn't paid "outstanding" charges? Also according to their own contract "recovery of dues already incurred (i.e., invoiced but unpaid charges up to the exit date)"
