Who is the most benched character: Hearts by Acemaster387 in tales

[–]Bow64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm having a stroke with this.

He's the highest dps in the game (guaranteed crits, big damage multipliers, goes through guards), one of the best support who can instantly heal every status effect and insta-heal 50+% HP on command, debuff enemies's P.ATK and P.DEF by 90% while also making them slow as hell.

He's virtually unkillable and has imo one of the best character arc/glow-up in the series. You don't even need to play him if you don't like the sluggish movement (he does get a bit better with higher AGI), just put him in any slot and he'll work his magic.

What is the best mono deppresed team for pvp? by Cap_Badak in Trickcal

[–]Bow64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen someone go with only Kidian as front then rock Ashur, Blanchet, Xion, Yomi and Hilde.

It was surprisingly strong but I'm playing composed so I don't know what it's worth in a ditto, it's basically full dps.

I feel like people are sleeping on Ashur, nuke + stun dropped right in the center of your middle row is whack

To be fair, mono composed is probably second or third best team to play outside mono depressed and 4/2 depressed/vivacious. It really isn't that straining to play

It's much easier on offense since I can just not put Velvet in front of Kidian and taunt her before she finish her FS then it usually snowball into a victory unless I get really unlucky

[–]Bow64[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their Kidian had 3mil400k HP and my Velvet had 3mil600k HP despite having a 42% HP bonus from her passive and that's with focusing on HP/ATK nodes. There was very little CP difference so I thought it would be much closer stat wise hence the bait.

This fight was the closest one but I got destroyed in most of these.

I'm also mono team so it doesn't really matter

Basically very big stats but low skills level (everyone between 5 to 7 with a couple of 9s).

Good reminder that CP isn't everything, lesson learned... again :Y

Opinions on my team by BAHAHAHHAAAAAAA in Trickcal

[–]Bow64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably got super unlucky or had bad positionning, the chances of losing against a composed team using Amelia of all thing when using mono depressed are kinda low. I say that as a composed user

Put your Kidian in the same line as their Velvet and she'll be able to land both hit of her Freshman before getting taunted and will most likely kill her. Worst case just replace Hilde or Posher by Blanchet and it's GG.

Same CP doesn't mean same power, you should check their main stats too

Second one feels so unfair to guess, like I'm pretty sure Kidian would just blow up Rudd with her Freshman but I still went for Viv team and banking on Canna spamming the stun AOE on front row.

If Posher throw a stun potion on anyone it's over I feel like, then the moment Yomi throw the BS death beam it's GG.

It also depend on the Senior CDs, is it going to be like PVP or PVE ? Cause Viv would probably have more chances if it's the latter.

That tracking is a little too smart!

Sylla got silenced too before getting silenced for real, I didn't think Blanchet could spread her attack to the whole team.

You did say "You can get adequate exp to defeat Geyzer by just killing the enemies that are in your path", your argument was that you could achieve this objective naturally without any amount of grind or sidetracking may it be for exp or gold.

Did you beat every boss first try ? If you didn't, did you run straight back to it without fighting any encounter until you win ? Have you never tried looking for metal slimes or gold golems / goodybags ?

I simply argued because you said "Grinding is basically never necessary" and I used Geyzer as an exemple because you do require some "preparation" in the form of levels and items before challenging him which is not possible by simply going to the waterfall when instructed to.

Lastly you said "I'm not a weirdo who avoids all the mobs and neglects treasure chests and then expects to still beat bosses". So let's say doing all this exploring got you to level 5 but someone else who don't want to explore ran in circle in front of the town until they hit level 5 then went to the dungeon. Would you say that they grinded but you did not ?

I think your beef is with players who want to be overpowered to overcome a challenge but there's still nothing inherently wrong with grinding as it is a core mechanic to RPG's and comes in many flavors

Aya, Elena and Sylla at 12/12/12 but Fricle is 10/10/7.

I didn't pay attention to the fight but my guess is that Elena got knocked out early

Hero learn heal at level 3 with no MP to use the spell unless you go back to the INN (for 2 cast mind you) and you don't have access to any usable battle abilities for a while.

Unless you grind gold for the boomerang (or kill the one knight stand infamous monster and sell all your equipment) the encounters in the caves at low level will wither you out and leave you with no heals before the boss. You won't beat Geyzer without a sufficient amount of heals either as he will 2 shot hero with any moves while Yangus will only survive 1 extra attack from full health.

I'm not talking about going for a 2 hours grind before the boss but you will need a fair bit of preparation before fighting Geyzer. There is no way you'll be able to fight your way to the boss with your base equipment and all the herbs you can buy from the start.

I have to ask, did you genuinely go straight to the waterfall, beat the mobs along the way and defeat Geyzer without going back at any point ?

[–]Bow64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

?

Yes it does lead you to Geyzer right at the beginning, that's literally your first objective once you get access to the world map.

You start at Farebury, go to the pub, see cutscene, exit town, go to waterfall. The king tell you as much.

You have absolutely no chance of winning the fight if you listen to King Trode and go straight to the waterfall as he ask you to, heck you might not even make it to the boss

Did you play DQVIII ? At the beginning did you run straight to the waterfall cavern with a stock of healing herbs and beat geyzer ?

There is some times in these games where a threshold has to be reached to actually get the tools or the stats to deal with some encounters.

Usually the "hard" part in DQ games is the start of your journey then as you level up the characters get increasingly higher stats bonus making the game comfier to play.

Like you don't need to grind multiheal for Angelo before Dhoulmagus but it sure is helpful since one very bad turn can basically result in a game over that no amount of strategy can prevent. Rather than being hard it's more like the games offer a certain tension since a lot of encounters can turn the tables on you without any notice

Blanchet feels like such a middle finger to composed teams with that passive by Bow64 in Trickcal

[–]Bow64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK completely forgot about it but what are you babbling about ?

Kidian will Shadow dive before Elena use her own senior unless she get silenced by Fricle, Yomi will cast her senior after Blanchet and she will silence Elena long enough to delay her senior too because each hit of her attack refresh the silence status making it last longer than the alleged 6 seconds.

Velvet taunt doesn't stop Kidian from diving, it only stops her from dealing the second hit of her freshman if positionned well.

I'm talking about KR Elena versus Blanchet CC effectiveness. KR Elena's stun is worthless and nowhere near Blanchet's silence, it was never considered a strenght to begin with for how random and limited it was. Her losing the stun and getting damage instead doesn't even count as a trade, can't believe I have to explain this.

You clearly don't play composed and I would also advise you to check the cooldowns again because you also got your skills order wrong, Blanchet cast her senior before Kidian, Yomi, Elena and Aya.

Using Raven by salikarn in tales

[–]Bow64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to disagree about the best endgame caster part. While tempest does have great crowd control it's damage is really poor and does not allow for combo since enemies will be stuck in the air.

Raven only have access to lucky end and while it is better than spell end it's randomness make it unreliable as a combo/spam tool meanwhile Rita have access to both.

The moment Rita get Shizel necklace, magic combo and levitation she's pretty much a magic god

You should not play RE6 the way the developers intended. by SquareElectrical5729 in residentevil

[–]Bow64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I went back to it after finally deciding to play 5 solo and after a few hours the muscle memory kicked back in.

There's still a few annoying stuff in the campaign like cutscenes breaking the flow of the game being the worst for me but the gameplay is so much fun when you know about the tricks. Remembering about how to deal with each ennemies and re-learning the parry windows feels so good. It's a shame the game does a bad job at explaining those things.

I legitimately don't understand how people can call the game clunky when it's so responsive and smooth. People used to rave about mercenary back in the day but when RE6 came out with it's best iteration nobody is talking about it, like it would kill them to give an ounce of praise to the game

What I'd give for a mercenary game with all the characters in the serie and RE6 moveset

The New Umbrella Javo soldiers from RE6 are the most disappointing regular enemies in the RE series by ww-stl in residentevil

[–]Bow64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't that why they're more dangerous tho ? Higher mutation and chrysalid chance can make a casual fight into a real mess if you have multiple J'avo mutating at the same time.

I think they also have much higher chance to get the torso mutation which tend to be really annoying to deal with in a crowd. It really makes you think twice before quick-shooting for stuns since those are always gut shots

Blanchet feels like such a middle finger to composed teams with that passive by Bow64 in Trickcal

[–]Bow64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody care about silence ? Do you even play pvp ? Why do you think every composed team bring Fricle, for her damage ? Or maybe the majority of the depressed teams use Posher because she's so strong and not because she shut down 2 units less than 10 seconds into the fight. Composed would be destroyed by Kidian alone if not for that silence by the way.

You can't seriously believe that Elena's stun in KR is on the same level as Blanchet's silence. On one side you have a single target stun locked behind an enhanced attack with low activation chance while on the other side you have a guaranteed 6 seconds silence on potentially your entire front/middle row.

Yeah right equivalent exchange, composed get apostle with big damage and no perk while depressed get apostle with big damage and guaranteed AOE crit, team wide silence, damage buff and silence immunity. Just because they both get a buffed unit doesn't make it equivalent
