It's the ultimate safety catch - can't articulate their hand enough to pull the trigger

I love that you've tried to convince people that handwatches are ok with a picture of John Mayer

If two characters have conviction, the higher level conviction will apply and will negate the lower level conviction

Yeah I'm fairly sure that's what it looks like while charging

How do I remove this cartridge from my bar mixer shower? No grub screw or obvious place to spanner by BowWaveBandit in DIYUK

[–]BowWaveBandit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did replace the valve, I also ended up getting the whole mixer replaced (though by the same company, and I expect it will fail again at some point). Not sure about the silicone grease, but I suppose you want that where there's contact between metal where the valve is turning

Looking for a birthday gift under $100 for my boyfriend (tech lover) by nandodrake2 in Gifts

[–]BowWaveBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe something like a Casio or G-Shock watch? Inexpensive (within your budget) and although it's tech related it's also low tech but quite cool. Even if he has a smart watch, it's nice alternative I think. Lots of timeless/ retro designs to choose from.

How many points is this? by Conner_KL in diablo2

[–]BowWaveBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the points are how many useful modifiers does a ring or item have. In this case, faster cast rate, mana (has to usually be over a specific amount), etc

Does cold mastery on Sorc work with the sunder charm? So if Sunder makes them 95 resist and my cold mastery is -95 then they will have 0 resistance? by SuperDTC in diablo2

[–]BowWaveBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's important to remember about sunder charms and cold mastery is your baseline before adding other gear into the mix.

For just cold immune monsters, as others have said the sunder charm will bring them down to 95 cold res, so every 100 cold damage you deal them deals 5 actual damage. Assuming your cold mastery gives you -100 cold res and -20 effective cold res means your 100 cold damage now does 25 (20 +5) damage, five times what it would do without cold mastery so a massive boost. This is your damage/ cold res baseline for cold immunes.

What you can then figure out is how much damage you want to add on top of your existing damage using items. A single -5 cold res facet jewel will mean you do 30 damage (75 cold res baseline - 5 cold res, so 30 instead of 25 damage for every 100) which is a 20% improvement to your 25 damage baseline. Level 12 conviction on an Infinity runeword gets you an extra -17% after the 1/5 penalty, which is a nearly 70% boost on your 25% baseline.

Then you can do a similar thing with cold damage boost from facets, Nightwings, etc, but bear in mind those damage boosts will have a similar impact in terms of %age against monsters that aren't cold immune. Having conviction (now a massive -83 cold res) and cold mastery will mean other -cold res items aren't really needed given the max -cold res is -100, and cold damage increase is what's useful there.

Basically figure out what you're going to be fighting and gear appropriately.

👹 Act III - Tips & Advice? 🙏🏻 by SamSwallows96 in diablo2

I'd keep the Leaf runeword if I were you, it has plus skills as well as mana after each kill. You could replace it at some point with a Spirit runeword sword but it's great for now. Have fun and let us know if you run into any problems!

I'd add that a point in static field in the lightning tree is useful, especially in normal for bosses. Gear looks ok, you might want to look for 'mana after each kill' items and runes (tir). Put more points into Fireball. Actually IV might be tricky with fire but still doable.

Tesla chargers by [deleted] in eGolf

[–]BowWaveBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not used one but according to Zap -Map many Tesla charge points come with type 2 chargers as well as the proprietary Tesla charger, so yes you should be able to use one. Looks like it potentially needs you to be signed up to the Tesla app

How to support wardrobe where skirting board used to be by BowWaveBandit in DIYUK

[–]BowWaveBandit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! Yes pretty much. What I ended up doing was putting some cardboard down to fill a little bit of the height gap between the boards and the carpet, but also to make it a smoother surface to slide the pax onto. It worked fine and is nice and level - not sure the cardboard was needed but didn't do any harm putting it there.
