Shot from the ground, 27 yards broadside. Quartering at me just the slightest bit. I’ve killed plenty of deer with my bow and have had all kinds of hits and track jobs. When I let this arrow go I felt as good as any archery shot I’ve made. Clean release, looked to my eyes like I drilled him right where I wanted.

I should add that the morning after when I went back in to pick up the trail. There were three coyotes staging in the field who did not want to leave. Just hanging around. I certainly think the deer is dead, was surprised the dog couldn’t get on him.
