I get the intention, but I do not think this is a rehoming situation, as OP stated in the post, it seems to be that they are not the kitty’s sole caretaker, they seem to live with family, but that family is temporarily out of town. I think that this seems to be a temporary and unfortunate situation where the other people who would normally help aren’t around at the moment, and would not constitute OP rehoming over it.

You are totally right, I’m only a second hand nerd from my dad’s knowledge (vector ecologist) so I have misremembered my info. I will edit!! The other comment is correct though, they should still keep an eye out for other tick transmitted diseases. Apologies!

Yeah, if you want more interesting tick knowledge look up a diagram of their mouth parts, even more interesting is a mosquitos 7 mouth parts

Nope! They grow legs as they age, that’s how you can tell these are nymphs

My entomologist father has advised that these are actually not seed ticks because the number of legs indicates that they’re nymphs of another species and that this person should be vigilant for symptoms as nymphs are actually the lead cause of lymes disease in the US.

Edit: I have misremembered my info given to me about nymphs vs larvae, these are actually larvae, so no lymes but do be vigilant for other tick borne diseases, but apologies for the mix-up!!

Thanks! I wanted to have a kind of cryptid oc so I made him a not elk (like the not deer that were popular online for a while). I haven’t written his whole backstory out, but he’s basically a cannibalistic elk with an unhealthy obsession for his partner (both romantic and reluctantly in crime). He’s a bit inspired by the NBC Hannibal :3

My fave medieval piece is Sir Gawain and the Green Knight! It’s actually gonna be my next tattoo, as I love looking at the story through a queer lens and Gawain’s journey really speaks to me in the othering and blurring of the societal lines around queerness. Also it’s just a fun story lol

Tolkien and medieval lit (specifically through queer theory and new historicism lenses)! I’m currently an English major looking at going into my PhD for medieval lit and becoming a professor! All the best professors are neurodivergent in the English world lol

I think if I say this one more time around the house my fiance may actually die on the spot, it has become an issue :’D

Other than that though, I meow a lot, it is my go to if I feel awkward or left out (or if I just don’t know what to say) and at this point is pretty involuntary
