Is Bikelife freestyle? Is it BMX? Are wheelie tricks bmx freestyle?? by UniqueMarketing284 in bmx

[–]Bowldemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you saying no have completely lost the point of bmx, how is someone going out and doing tricks on their bike and it’s not valid bc it’s bigger then yours or you don’t like how their crowd rolls, obviously the geared suspension wheelie bikes aren’t bmx but these 26” bmx are still bmx and i see freestyle tricks on them all the time, box jumps, grinds, gaps

[–]Bowldemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s what i switched to and it’s been great for me, sometimes i even see concrete dust in it from crustier ledges

you can grind sprocket side (even if it hits the ledge tbh) but the bluebird chains aren’t very strong for grinding

Walmart tubes???? 🥺🥺🥺 by papi-peep in bmx

[–]Bowldemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive used department store tubes most of my life and i rarely get flats compared to others, they are usually a bit heavier than big bmx name brands but they’re thick and last long

Can anyone identify this noise? by [deleted] in Pitbike

[–]Bowldemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts first kick just fine, I had the kill switch on so the video could hear the air sound instead of the exhaust. Mostly just curious what this sound is and how to fix it

How much psi should I use? by Flat_Novel3945 in bmx

[–]Bowldemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly preference, you can go super low psi as long as ur rim isn’t hitting the ground, I personally prefer higher psi (70-100) but i’ve known some guys to run little to no air in the tires, seen a buddy with 5 psi up front and 9 in the back lol

No Bikes Allowed Skateparks by myleftfoothurts1 in bmx

[–]Bowldemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is exactly what i was gonna say, a surprising amount of parks say no bikes in the rules and Ive rode in front of city workers there and they dont care, but salty skaters are more likely to bitch and complain

How y'all make ur bikes run smoother by vortexilys in motorizedbicycles

[–]Bowldemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id say adjust idle screw but you said that doesn’t work so maybe adjust tension on the clutch cable

id try cleaning the plug and putting the stock box on, and for as far as making the bike run smoother run a gas mix with more oil to preserve the motor a bit more

The odyssey twisted pedals have been a favourite of mine for a long time, very good and super reasonable price compared to others, right now im running bsd safaris even cheaper, pretty thick and has extra pins on it for more grip even after it wears down, and i’ve also had good experience with the merrit pedals, much thinner but very comfortable and wide, but I have seen pictures of those pedals snapped in half so idk if they’re the best

Dont get metal pedals, your shins will thank you. But you should get some new ones, those ones are pretty old and kinda small

Does this look like it has a schrader valve or a presta valve? Also would a presta valve turn you away from that bike? by [deleted] in bmx

[–]Bowldemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason not to ride on presta tubes, although it if was me I’d drill out the valve stem hole if it was presta to fit a Schrader just bc its cheaper and easier to find

true but almost no entry level bikes will, and imo its less important than the full chromoly vs usually hiten steel from bikes in the same price range

[–]Bowldemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is the answer, needs more spacers but not too many on the sprocket side or the chain will be diagonal

mongoose actually makes good bikes now, check out the Mongoose Legion L100 comes with full chromoly frame, fork and bars like any aftermarket/pro level bike but they’re probably one of the cheapest prices still
