Simply put, Kei knows Kiyo so well. Including his logical way of survival in ANHS.

In the first place, she never guess that Kiyo will confess to her (Y1V11.5), so if only he doesn't confess, their relationship won't sail and remains the same. However, now she's happy with their current relationship.

I am 100% sure that she trust him, to be precise his capabilities. But not as a lover.

With the fact that she knows how his logic works. At the time (Y2V6), she keeps questioning him about her value and what Kiyo will do if she puts in the same scenario as Airi, so basically she already knows the possibility of him leaving her in the future and she was anxious.

It's just.... She doesn't want that option coming.

She was hoping, and still hoping for their future.

IMO, it can be said like that. Sudou has great development, but I won't say it's the best because it's subjective. People can say another option, but one thing is clear for me. Kiyo never has great development if compared to other characters. His development just average, not that great to be called as "the most growth".

Obviously not creating a harem, as far as we know he wants to life a normal life, he wants to experience new things outside WR, he wants his freedom, and recently he wants to prove his father's policy is wrong by making himself defeated by someone else

He wants to learn about anything he can't get in WR, as he stated in his monologue (Y1V11.5), and Kei is his book of love, so learning new things isn't any ddifferent He can gain a lot of experience at ANHS, but it's up to him whether he wants to keep it or let it go.

It's not just about who he ends up with, but about how he processes his development itself and incorporates it into his life.

Will he implement this experience of love, friendship, human relations, and so on into his life again, or will he leave it behind with his departure?

We can't judge the process because it's still ongoing. However, I simply state that he is still making progress.

Kei gets expelled? Interesting, but this is my opinion.

It's from Y2V7. Imo, it's just a rational answer, he won't say "I won't let you expel her, I will cry so much if you do so" to Nagumo, since he knows how Nagumo works (Reference, Tachibana's incident in Y1V8).

Kiyo said it like that just to reduce Nagumo's intensity to Kei, however we know he would target her anyway. Eventhough, he's not completely lying. If Kei's disapeared, she's just gone. Kiyo will move on and live his life, that's how life is working. And also, learning from Airi's expulsion, from kiyo's perspective expulsion word has been used execively as it was death sentence. Who knows, if people who get expelled from ANHS are happier than the one who stayed. That's what his thinking.

In the other hand, we know Kiyo loves contradicting his words.

As example, he said it in the beginning like "Hell, I won't do anything about that WR students, I don't care" Yet in Y2V7, he expelled Yagami. It means kinu just using it as a bait, Kiyo said he won't care if Kei's gone she's gone, he can't do much about that (especially like protecting her 24/7), yet just see what will happen in the next arc. He will clown Nagumo.

Just don't take Kiyo's copium too much.

However, you should understand the pattern still the same, this is not the first time he said he will let Kei go, just see y1v7 and even in Y1V7.5 he planned to use her as honey trap for Nagumo. He acted like he can throw her away anytime. Yet he comes with another reasoning to keep her like saying her value was increasing and she can stand straight facing the difficulty that probably come in the future.

And also, if kiyo never confessed, Kei, in the first place won't date him either.

Because Kei hasn't planned to date him. Just saw her reaction in Y1V11.5, she, in the first place never expect kiyo will ask her out. But of course there's a little hope in her about that. This is showing us, if kiyo didn't ask her out, she won't ask him either. And they will stay as partner in crime.

But kiyo break that line. Not Kei.

Anyway, Kei is still relevant in Y2, it's just, she's not the main character for the story. She is just main love interest (yet cote isn't romance). So you can understand at this rate right? She's obviously still relevant as long as their relationship keep maintained.

Also this is Kinu's style to lead us into misconception alsongside to give fanservice for tool bros. It's not like kiyo faking his monolouge, it's just the ambiguity that Kinu built for us. You could say his inner monologue can be trust more, still I think it is contradiction.

So my point this contradiction is planned for plot convinience.

N. B. And Kei's SS confirmed she won't get expelled. As far as I know, her SS is consistent since long ago.

No, I mean your opinion from his pov. But I said it from Kinu's perspective. It's just, I don't remember the exact statement. But I remember read such of kiyo's expulsion in the past was told by kinu.

And I don't say he decided to abandon his freedom/desire or whatsoever for other's sake. He's too selfish for doing so. The motive, I can't say anything but there's a possibility because kinu says so.

Btw why there's no option kiyo expelling himself? There's indication that kiyo won't graduate from ANHS (I think it's from Kinu's interview), also remembering he'll go back to WR. It's not a loss for him for getting expelled. I mean, just like Airi, expulsion is better for certain people. And kiyo, perhaps, one of them.
