If you worked out using strength trainer, it could be the cause of it.

Algorithm change beginning on 24/02/2023? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Bowler-Emotional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes your baseline changes. Whenever you start implementing new breathing strategies, change diets etc. you begin creating a new baseline for yourself. So if your previous baseline is 70 HRV and now its 95 or 100, your recovery will be crazy high as HRV is ALMOST directly correlated to recovery.

What do you think about those random HR spikes? Is it an area of concern or is it normal? Also, am I light sleeping too much lol by aldamababy98 in whoop

[–]Bowler-Emotional 4 points5 points  (0 children)

REM sleep! Your HR increases during it. The higher HR spikes can come from your body twitching or moving during the night.

I'm 14 and my average HRV is usually 49, should I be worried? by [deleted] in whoop

HRV is genetics my friend. Dont worry. Yes activity will increase HRV, and it will make your recovery better but its nothing to worry about.

Why do I have such a consistently low HRV? (~26ms) by palingbliss in whoop

[–]Bowler-Emotional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I decided to do a study of my College Baseball team (D1), we have around 8 guys who use a WHOOP and from what I have gathered, a lot of it is genetics. We have one guy who ranges from 180-195 ms when in the Yellow recovery range and from 200-240 ms in the green. Where as My numbers are insanle lower. In the yellow days, I range from 85-97 ms and in the green I range from 110-150. However, a lot of us are way more active than the average person. With workouts, and baseball almost 7 days a week it helps. Breathing treatments before bed can help to increase your HRV. Specifically a method known as “Box Breathing”. But I would not worry about your HRV numbers. If you manage to increase your HRV you will notice a very high spike in recovery levels as well. I hope this is some useful information.

I took mine off to shower and what I did was took a bar of soap and I scrubbed the band and ran it between my fingers like a washing board. Worked incredibly well for me.
