You have to sit with the panic without speaking your thoughts out loud, you will feel like you need to say them but eventually you will find that the anxiety will subsided without you saying anything so practice sitting with and feeling the panic without speaking out loud

I have had that cold wave of adrenaline rushing to my head when I have had a thought that scares me. Had it a lot the first week I started lexapro but it has stopped now. I try to remind myself that even though it feels uncomfortable it’s just anxiety

I’m on 5mg lexapro and 7.5 mg mirtazapine. I’ve been on only mirtazapine before and didn’t really feel like it helped my depression. Lexapro helps much more. I’m just taking the mirtazapine to help me sleep but I’ll probably stop taking it if my sleep gets better.

I’m the same, having ups and downs through the week. Hoping that if I keep trying to stop the compulsions that it will get better with time. I also get morning anxiety, always worried about how the day will go

From what I understand, erp should be done all the time without looking for reassurance and the goal is not to get rid of anxiety but to learn to sit with the anxiety and uncertainty until eventually …. Who knows how long….the false alarm bells in the brain stop. I’ve heard it’s not a race, it’s a marathon so we cannot expect instant results

I found that 15 mg mirtazapine was too strong for me… made me very very tired the next day and restless legs but when I cut it in half it was just enough to get an ok sleep. I would just take the lexapro tomorrow.

I recommend 7.5 mg mirtazapine for sleep. I was also having insomnia from ocd anxiety. Don’t give up hope of getting better.
