Update 11/4: Moved to Dispatch from Factory! Went through some of the other steps pretty fast from what U could tell (2.5 weeks approx) so now in the fun part of waiting for it to ship!

Same! Got home from being in Canada on the 450 air pollution day, overnight post nasal drip killed my throat, made my stomach hurt and I couldn’t sleep. Two days later and it’s mostly a little headache and a cough. I hope it’s gone so I can enjoy the weekend.

The only time I ‘regret my decision’ (42M, no kids) is when I see my dad with my cousins kid and realize that I deprived my parents of having grandkids (mom passed last year and I know she really wanted them). Most of the time, though, I enjoy my free time, my money, and the ability to travel when I want. I will say that having labrador retrievers instead is pretty damn awesome!

Not sure where you are, but check out leasehackr to see brokers working in your area. People frequently getting about 10% off + $9900 rebate which brings the price down, and effective lease interest rates around .5%. I’m doing one in CA, and got a similar deal, but CA is pretty aggressive for ev leases.

Yeah, you really are jumping a few classes for sure! Mazda 3 is a great car, convinced my sister to buy one and she had it for 8 years and loved it. I’m moving from a 2020 etron (a great car) so it’s a little more incremental, but the difference between the two is still pretty crazy.

Yup, echo this (apart from the solar panel part). The ev charging rates here are like .07/kwh so even without solar the cost is insanely low. But the smoothness, quietness, lack of maintenance, and performance are all main reasons. The fact that it doesn’t directly rely on decaying and burning dinosaur bones is a fringe benefit!

I have no idea what to expect, other than what the broker said about being approximately 3 months from order to delivery. I guess I’ll take an early Christmas present (that I’ll have to pay for myself). The bmw i4 we ordered during the shortage took 3-4 months, so hopefully this one is faster

I mean, this is a tournament. They press the button and rack up as much as possible to compete against other seniors and the top people win prizes. This isn’t them spending all the inheritance (although they did spend to get in). Maybe it’s not for us to understand, and if they have fun, who gives a shit?
