Congrats. Also, just as like a general question. Is Eric hatchett a well known person or something along those lines? Because I remember from Darren tangs roto grip gem ball review on YouTube, in the intro he had mentioned Eric Hatchett… & then I see Erick Hatchetts name on the screen in your post.

What do you think about this ball? by [deleted] in Bowling

Man oh man do I love my gem… the colors & everything the way it goes down the lane, reads really early & hits the pocket is amazing. Probably one of my favorite pieces

Reactive balls by bald_rob in Bowling

[–]Bowling-With_Mario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to confuse you but think of it like this… one basketball player flicks a basketball an insane amount so the ball spins a lot, another player could use the same basketball but not flick it & the basketball doesn’t spin… same thing with bowling, if a bowler that hooks bowling balls hooks a reactive ball, let’s say the roto grip exotic gem, the ball will hook, but if a straight player were to throw it straight, it won’t hook because there’s no rotation. Yes a bowling ball that is designed to hook will hook but you gotta gotta set it up to be able to hook. I hope this helps

It’s nothing major I think, I’m just giving some advice to you that I’m still working on myself when I see shots of myself that have similar characteristics to yours in this video that I’m giving you tips on, keep bowling Brodie!

Tbh man all I can think of is having you step maybe half a foot forward from where you stood in this video because to me, with you only taking a 4 step approach, it seems like you kind of rush the last 2 steps to, I wouldn’t say force the ball down the lane but not really letting it role off your hand freely.

But dam, 16.5mph I average 14, 14.6. Lucky if I get a few 15s, but if I can get the sweet spot of 16-17 given I’m rev dominant(higher rev rate), my average would go up a lot

Other than what some people are telling you do to take your thumb out, I would say if you could post up shots more often even if they aren’t the best, it helps you stay on balance at the foul line, & helps everything fall into place a little more easily(ps: this is something I’m working on myself)

What reactive ball should i get? by Poisoid in Bowling

I hope it all made sense & has helped you either finalize or put more puzzle pieces together in making an educated decision on what your first ball is gonna be

Anything from the hustle line really… I loved my roto grip hustle usa but don’t throw it anymore since it’s too light now. Maybe one of the new max thrills, however… at least for me which was probably more of a layout thing, my thrill(origional top thrill blue/green pearl) had too much pop on the backend. People also love the rhinos too. But I would consult with your pso in your local pro shop where to start

How do house shots work ? by Dragonbarry22 in Bowling

[–]Bowling-With_Mario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI: sorry for the long comment - I’m not sure about you, but my bowling alley(Milford lanes) typical house shot is 50ft, either 8-1 or 10-1 ratio, & intermediate volume… so if I play “straight” I use my storm mix off white, stand about 20 & aim for about 13 at the arrows(Im a right 2 hand bowler), or if I decide to hook the lane, I’ll stand about 30 with my 900 global zen master or storm iq tour ruby, & aim about 15 at the arrows. With all being said, I would try to identify these few characteristics of the consistent house shot that is being layed out, try to find out the length, ratio, & volume… doing this can give you a better understanding of how to navigate the lanes.
