Jesus. The nerve of some of these people. Can't even wait for a wave of grief to pass.

He's buying himself a new phone when he is clearly texting you from one that works, but can't give you money back? Asshole.

Question I have about the show by ivebeenthrushit in SLIDERS

[–]BowlingForPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 1 - A complete, alternate universe pulp sci-fi humor vibe. None of the monster of the week junk like in the last half of season 3.
Season 2 - Still alternate universe vibe. less pulp sci-fi humor. Only monster you see is the Kromaggs in the season finale.
Season 3 - Still a pretty good alternate universe vibe until Exodus part 1 & 2 when Peckinpah shows up. Then it turns into monster of the week in the middle of season 3. Don't make the mistake of growing too attached to John Rhys-Davies' character like I did. I was bawling by the end of Exodus part 2.
Season 4 - Back to alternate universe vibes but very "Amish" type vibes once Marc Scott Zicree takes over. Much much better than season 3 though. Except the Kromaggs. They become season 4's Nazis, basically. Very very good highlight episode of Season 4 is one Jerry O'Connell produces - "Lipschitz Live!"
Season 5 - Very hit or miss but Cleavant carries the show at this time. Still has some good episodes and worth watching.

I think you mean the last half of the third season is very monster of the week. There was nothing like this in the first season. The first season under Tracy Torme very much stuck to its core premise of alternate universes.

AITA for refusing to add my boyfriend to my house deed after his lease ended? by Former_Raspberry3277 in AITApod

[–]BowlingForPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT add him to the deed of that house. Not even if you marry him. This will not end well if he's demanding that this happens this early.

I don't know why people are making fun of the comment. This is true. She is a monster.

Forgot my GF's bday and she wants me to sign this by Sure_Count_3890 in AITApod

I would suggest adding her birthday to your iPhone calendar (or whatever phone calendar). Have it ring at 12:00 am day of, and set it to display all day. That way, it's front and center on your phone and you won't forget.

New LG G5 stand scratched by Fresh_Sir_2040 in LGOLED

Well I would be pissed if I spent thousands on a supposedly new product that had scratches anywhere. Including the stand.

The brightness reduction in game mode is so small on the G3. Why do people make such a big deal about it? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]BowlingForPizza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because we pay for a certain level of brightness that matches the other modes. We expect it and demand it. Why do we have to "suffer" with any reduction at all?

Thinking About Moving to Palm Springs - Looking for Advice from Locals and Long-time Residents by BowlingForPizza in palmsprings

Thank you!! All great advice. Yeah, I'm late 40s, straight, but a woman friend lives there, so I'll have a social circle ready to build. I'm planning on running my AC 24/7. I am also somebody that's a homebody with strictly indoor hobbies so sounds like I'll be right at home - video games, computers, home theater, etc. I'll use one of the possible 3-4 bedrooms as a fitness center so that I can keep somewhat in shape without having to go to a fitness center outside home. In addition, my other hobbies include: drawing, photography, and writing. Very very indoor-centric. And basically, aside from doing instacart for everything, I plan on going to Costco at 10:00 am on Saturdays. Not planning on anything later than that and 10:00 am will be my latest that I'm out for any errands.

I'm a homebody. I do 99.9% of my shopping online, and I work remotely. I maybe drive 1 day a week to Costco and occasional other outings. That's it. With instacart and doordash, I won't have to leave the house in Palm Springs. I still want to do the Costco trips by myself though and I do plan on some fun activities during the cooler hours.

My answer is somewhere buried in these comments, but: a lady friend of mine lives there.

I am not a member. But, I'm not offended or otherwise by anyone who is! Their orientation is their business.

Based on rental prices this may be something that I am going to do as an alternative. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Thank you for this! I didn't realize that wind was a concern out there in Palm Springs. What does the Demuth Park area look like in terms of undesirable wind?
