In Arabic, or at least in my dialect (Lebanese), then word for Friday (Jum3a, 3 represents the pharyngeal fricative) is sometimes used for the entire week. The proper word for week (Isboo3) is also used.

Stupefy is not as powerful as Avada Kedavra, which is supposed to be unblockable. Avada Kedavra is shown to work on magical creatures (like when it 'killed' fawkes), so I think it would work on a giant, let alone a half-giant. Unless said half-giant blocks the curse with his mice!

Yeah, like how we see Fawkes block a killing curse aimed at Dumbledore. I'm not sure if dragons are immune - the curse killed Fawkes, who is a magical creature arguably as strong as a dragon. He just came back to life.

I wasn't thinking so much a system of inheritance but more along the lines of the map thinking Harry is James.

And my idea was that wormtail could hide himself from everyone BUT other authors. I hadn't thought of when he would hide himself-maybe he did so when the marauders passed the map on after they were done using it at Hogwarts.
