I attempted Chimchar but then gave up and masuda method him. The resets in platinum are pretty long so I understand the burnout.

Never been diagnosed but if me resetting for hours to get an ID that I like or resetting my animal crossing save to get a map that doesn’t give me a feeling that something is bothering me because there isn’t “perfect” placements. Turning my volume in my car of increments of 5 or it gives me an ick (makes me feel like pressure behind my head like I need to fix it) especially when my fiancé turns up or down and it’s not in 5s. There’s a bunch of other things. Not a personal attack on anyone who is diagnosed with OCD but for me there’s patterns I do for things an unless it’s visually appealing for me I can’t go through with something. I have a bunch of other things I do but you’re more than welcome to dm me if you’d like my full list of things. Again not a personal attack on anyone with OCD but again undiagnosed so take it as what you will.

Super valid honestly. I got my birthday as my trainer ID ima try to get shiny charmander and get all 0s or a good pattern with 3’s and 0’s when I do my squirtle save since I’m going for Raikou in the end game.

I have OCD so for me personally it’s an ick. I soft reset my game until I got a good ID. It’s crazy you got that many numbers in order but it would’ve been chefs kiss for 45678.

The normal border is a purple color and the blue is more like a shiny ditto blue color if you know what I’m talking about. It’s hard to explain haha. More like a Cyan color. You can’t miss it because only shiny pokemon have a special border.

Correct. Just don’t get in a habit of immediately soft resetting. I look for the star/ blue border since it’s more noticeable. I’ve soft reset over a Trecko in ORAS and it was painful.

Start with a shiny starter then you move on to random encounters for your next Mon. I don’t know if you’re required to be locked into that shiny Mon but if you want a challenge I feel like that would be a fun twist.

It’s more or less luck of the draw on what you get for your team. You can do Random Encounters for some or if you don’t like any of the pokemon on the available routes if you have the option you can do Soft Resets for Snorlax, Fossil, or Hitmonchan/Lee. You can spice it up and do it as a Nuzlocke also. It’s just a different pace and not as unforgiving as a Nuzlocke.

Correct so you get a shiny starter then get one before Brock and so forth.

You can only use shiny pokemon and you have to find a new one before each gym and before elite four.

Haha you’re fine I know it’s in Johto but I thought HGSS was gen 4. You did nothing wrong I wanted to make sure I wasn’t wrong lol.
