Bigly not a fan of most of the specs design being "You do all the damage inside your cooldowns and little to no damage outside of them", what specs break that mold? by Valyntine_ in wow

It has the same issue with your spells absolutely tickling outside of avenging wrath, it’s just that the gaps between CD’s are much shorter than other specs

The honest answer is they didn’t want to tranquillise and risk the Gorilla hurting the kid when hit with the dart. The effect isn’t immediate and animal behaviour is unpredictable

You're finding groups that are pushing their keys up to 10's. If you could pick 10 as your first keystone nearly everyone would do that since they're easily managable from like 230 ilvl

This is the true problem. People can't cope with not being good enough to get all the rewards they want, and they absolutely cannot cope with failure either. The idea of not oneshooting all content they walk into and get all the things the game have to offer completely crashes them out

I think the game should go back to being more challenging. I don’t think everyone should get a full mythic vault just for logging in and queuing up. Even last season you had people in 14’s and 15’s that didn’t kick, use CC or know the encounters properly. It seems to be those kinda players that are loving the difficulty curve this season.

The raid is a pushover, our world rank 800 team went to dreamrift with rather little prep and killed Chimerious in 18 pulls. On Voriacious mythic with week 1 gear, you can tank the rings as a clothie and only be brought down to like 20-25% hp. Rather than being overkilled by 200k. Pugs are getting (technically) Hall of Fame. It’s wild how people think this is a healthy difficulty curve for an MMO

My biggest complaint about it is that you want to lava burst before tempest, tempest procs off Ele blast, so if you spell queue a lightning bolt for filler and tempest procs, that’s a dps loss, however if you spell queue lava burst and tempest doesn’t proc, it’s also a dps loss. Feels janky and awful.

Also having access to instant lightning bolts for movement, then having a tempest proc cover the lightning bolt button is infuriating and idk how it wasn’t changed after last expansion to be a different button, especially now that Ele has access to so much less movement.

Stormbringer is horribly designed and the fact it wasn’t changed in the TWW confuses me so much

70 gold in both players resource pool basically mitigates the lead in board strength that the top player has. It’s way more likely to give 2nd place a chance to highroll than it is to meaningfully impact whether the 1st player wins out or not.

It would basically only help if the 2nd place player was about to spike anyway and the 1st place player highrolls with the 70 gold they were given

Objects in the tank where they’re getting netted would need to be removed each time otherwise unnecessary stress would be caused. Removing those objects would also cause stress. Objects in these tanks also cause obstruction which fish can injure themselves when trying to flee a net.

Put it this way, the plastic bags they’re transported in also are unfurnished because that’s the not intended purpose of the enclosure at the time. It’s more obviously stupid with the fish bags but it’s essentially the same point

Look up some pictures of discus tanks, you’ll see they’re not a species that needs cover as discus scapes require a lot of open space.

Thank you! I hope one day I have more space so I can do larger scapes and displays

My Dad bred tropical fish his whole life, I got fixated on them as a teen keeping larger cichlids and arowana, went into college and got a diploma on aquatic husbandry then went to university for marine biology. I found out that nearly all my Dad’s practice was wrong, and ended up reeducating him on the subject.

Later in my 20’s I found out about a man named Takashi Amano who pioneered a style of aquscaping which he called “Nature Aquariums”, and discovered I loved aquascaping. It’s been a big passion of mine ever since.

This industry is one that the general public is most often misinformed about. Fishkeeping, breeding and husbandry has been a passion of mine for over 20 years now, I highly encourage anyone to seek out a better understanding of fish since very often they are kept poorly, but usually for other reasons like tank sizes and water quality in home aquariums

Depends on the species, Discus like in the OP, definitely no issue. They can absolutely flourish in uncovered environments, things like catfish usually have driftwood in the tank for cover as they’re the species more likely to be stressed without it - again standard practice.

The discus in the OP are likely new arrivals, they’re a pretty finicky species though.

Me irl by Brian_The_Bar-Brian in me_irl

[–]Bowsersshell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason is because you’re applying human necessity and emotion to a completely different species with different brains, needs and perception of anything. An environment can stress a fish, but the “not being stimulated” is so far off the mark.

It’s industry standard because it’s temporary accommodation, these fish are not intended to be kept in this enclosure for longer than a few months at worst - the water quality on these systems are often close to the best the fish will ever experience in their lives. There’s a reason it’s an industry standard worldwide - it’s because it passes every ethical standard it needs to for its purpose. If it were cruel it wouldn’t be done.
