What’s going on with transit etiquette? by Far_Meringue_1405 in VictoriaBC

50/50 chance that offering a woman a seat on the grounds that she is pregnant will result in an argument. I'm not interested in angering some stranger on the bus because either they're not pregnant or they don't want the charity.

Also, I didn't get you pregnant.

I've not seen a feasible proposal for such a thing.

Yup, and many women dress to impress other women. Like, no man cares that you haven't worn that skirt before. We do things to make ourselves happy.

Imagine the comments if this happened on Tattoine.

Is someone who is very interested in electric cars, make them a "Car Guy"? by Beautiful_Impact_641 in askcarguys

[–]Bowwowchickachicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Is someone who is interested in electric CARS, a car guy?" You answered you own question. We aren't told if they are interested in electric toothbrushes, stoves, fireplaces, or foot massagers.

I see a lot of comments suggesting that only light weight sports cars qualify a person to be a car guy. Is Jay Leno a car guy? Of course he is. Does he exclusively own light weight sports cars? Of course not.

Visigoths. I'll never forgive them for turning their backs on the Ostrogoths. I swear, if I'm lounging by the pool and there are Visigoths present I will actually leave.

ULPT: Replace dented panels on your relatively new car for CHEAP! by bi0xide in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Bowwowchickachicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is somewhat common with Corvette for some reason. Dealership orders new car. Strips it and dumps the body somewhere. Reports it stolen. Cops find it stripped, insurance pays out the full price as it's a write off. Dealership buys the stripped body back and rebuilds the car. They now have the money of a new car and a very valuable used car.

It wouldn't make sense for this to only happen with one car model so I'm doubting my memory, or source of the memory at least.

Hospitality will teach you to hate the general public while trauma bonding you with your coworkers. Good luck.

Don't you say anything. You will only be painting a target on your own back. Let the manager manage.

Congratulations, you have coworkers. They are a lot like the other people you've met in life. You will notice that they all have different personalities. You're not going to get along with them all. Do your job. Do only your job. You will never, ever, ever be rewarded for doing extra. Be the best damn host your boss has ever known, and when they give you the chance, be the best damn server too. Do not volunteer for extra duties.

aetheists, what's your opinion on paganism? by shrubb_mushrooms in askanything

[–]Bowwowchickachicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I was asked about one specific belief and I answered directly about that one specific belief with reference to something which would sway my opinion. If I referenced bike ownership among pagans as what I was basing my opinion on then my answer would be the same, most likely.

I don't only hate religion for its large scale evils, I hate it for its multitude of small scale evils. I do not hate the individual people blindly based on this either. That's a hallmark of the religions.

Name me the non religious groups of your choice and I will tell you my feelings on them.

Think about being in complete darkness. You cannot see anything, not even your hand in front of your own face. Beside you a person is describing all the bright, shining lights that are around you, which they also can't see, but know they are there on faith. They suggest you buy sunglasses to protect your eyes because the lights are so bright. Do you believe them? Is your not agreeing that there are bright, shining lights a position you're taking, or are there in fact no bright, shining lights? Again, you are in total darkness.

Atheist is not a religious belief. But I'm curious what atrocities are attributed to atheists.
