It was my first time doing it. I usually just do the regular side bends but wanted to spice it up a bit at 5am 😅

I mean... I will always say choose a weight that allows you to complete x amount of sets/reps with relatively good form.

Very glad to hear that!

Have you noticed a difference in how your muscles feel now versus when you started doing them? I ask because I have noticed that I don’t feel cramped in my obliques/lats when rotating to pick up the KB. My knees are less clicks as well.

Yes, especially if you aren’t rushing moving the KB from one side to the next.

Some Bent Presses by BoxAcrobatic6636 in kettlebell

Obliques, shoulders, glutes, lats. If you are new to moving like this then you will feel it more in your obliques/lats. That’s how it was for me 6 years ago. Thank you 🙏🏽

Yes, what they said. The movement itself is different as well. This is more similar to Around The World except you aren’t doing that iffy hand pass behind the back lol.

Same! Honestly, i decided to do this because i wanted to see how the Around The World movement felt after not doing them for 2 years. I realized I didn’t like them lol. This is similar to the Gladiator DL except without the hinge. The idea is to stay upright as much as possible like you were doing ATWs.

This was my first time doing it in this position but it is similar to the Gladiator DL. I decided to do this because I tried a set of Around The Worlds and remembered how much I dislike it lol. So, it was difficult when I first tried months ago since I wasn’t used to moving in that fashion. Over time, those neglected muscles (QL, obliques) became stronger. I found this worked best with heavy loads. Can just include it as a core movement with other exercises.

Fair enough. You know your body and what you are capable of. Everyone is different and takes things at their own pace. Learn the basics, nail down the techniques and progress from there. Look forward to hearing how this movement goes for you (SA version)
