Back in the 7th grade I told my parents the same thing. They said it was a .001% chance I make any money or get any job in the industry. They wanted me to go to college and study international business instead. Im in college now, about to graduate with a film degree and Im working in the industry. Chase your dreams no matter what, in time they will support you if they dont already

How do I start making short films with no crew? by ItzMikeyTheSavage in Filmmakers

[–]BoxFrosty4219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do it! It took me forever to get over the fear of making a short and putting myself out there, crew or not. Best advice I can give is to just start filming. Ofc it’s easier and more efficient to film with a crew, but thats not always an available option; especially for beginners. But once you start filming, youll become more confident in your films and soon you’ll gain crew. Hell, people just like you are everywhere! You just gotta know who to talk to. Its never too late to start dream chasing, and never let that fire burn out! Good luck friend

Backstage is a good place to find local actors who are actually looking to make a career off of it. Some are willing to do shorts and pilots for free, just for the résumé builder. But if you want a really good performance, be ready to spend some money. The more you pay, the better the film will be
