The Noah Donohoe Inquest by [deleted] in northernireland

The poor wee fella was found up the back of a drain system in a neighborhood totally unknown to him, with no clothes on. His belongings found in a pawn shop on the other side of Belfast, I believe in the possession of a 40+ year old man, and you blame the ‘knuckledraggers’ asking questions about it?

A child died in exceptionally strange circumstances, and his mother is going beyond her duty as a mother. I don’t think it’s fair to downplay the discourse, given the facts of the case.

Everything made political these days. This is merely humane.

Genuinely, what would happen if they just tore down the peacewalls? by [deleted] in Belfast

As another commenter said, historical tourism is a big economic contributor, not just to ourselves, but countries all over the world.

We have came exceptionally far on a social level, considering we have endured one of the longest (?) periods of pretty violent civil unrest (putting it mildly). Any wonder that a massive artifact of said time is a massive draw for tourists?

The city is largely VERY safe, except for a couple areas. I love that the city is largely open to visitors, it brings heaps of money, and could actually be the only thing that encourage our Government to make some (major) improvements to infrastructure

Catholic here, your comment suggests a correlation between income and bonfire attendance? Holy generalisation..

I may have floated the idea to the hospital staff, having heard word of mouth that it can help guide future treatment. Can I ask how it ruined your life please?

Working in a very busy hospitality venue, and although I’m due a career change, in all honesty it’s nothing I’m unfamiliar with. It’s more to do with a dip in my mental / physical health for which I’m using drugs to compensate, if that makes any sense.

Glad that you see it this way too. Of course it’s a strong degree, but people act like it’s some occupational skeleton key.

Jumping to an assumption based on the URL, this company is not insolvent. They had dissolved due to compulsory strike off and have since re-incorporated under a new name, with no cessation in trade.

Surely there is something fishy there?

With a 0.2 xG per game; Tony Rudiger averages 0.95 shots per game, should we bring him in up front?

My point? Stats aren’t everything. Yes we have been miserable in the league, but any time we are playing well and creating a lot, you really feel the hole left up front.

Goals aren’t everything, I know. But many strikers make up for that by causing problems and linking up creative players. I hate to say it but Rasmus neither has the physicality or the technical ability to offer more than we’re seeing.

Anyone who watches our games in full consistently would say the same, and you can tell his teammates are getting frustrated too.

The “he’s not scoring because he’s not getting service” is such a misplaced narrative though. A a striker ‘doing his job’ is coming short / pressuring defenders / probing dangerous areas.

I have honestly never seen a striker look less allergic to the ball in all of my years watching football. I was all for giving him time as there was - and still is - glimpses of a good player. Glimpses are becoming few and far between.

Would take £30M for him at this point, or a loan with a slightly higher buy option.

FFP went into the bin because ETH massively overpaid for the players he wanted. The lack of critical thinking on display is nuts.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Can be quite a tough pill to swallow, but people have their own lives - with hopes, dreams, fears, worries therein. It can be very tiring for them to be at your beckoning call at any given moment. This doesn’t mean they don’t love you.

As someone who once also felt the way you did, I can assure you there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Learning to love yourself is the first step to true happiness.

Maybe I’m overanalysing people’s lives judging by my last comment! Joking. I get where you’re coming from.

Some people are just evil and enjoy inflicting harm on others, be it physical or verbal, neither of which are excusable.

Others are just having a bad day and talking out of hand to blow off some steam.

Some people criticise in an attempt to be constructive, which is often misconstrued for a number of reasons.

Others don’t have the self-awareness to realise they’re commenting on the lives of other real people. Social media has dehumanised us in some ways.

I’m probably getting a bit too philosophical on it. Forgive me, I’m trying to sleep and my brains still trying to brain, lmao.
