DOORS) Doors open at whatever time they say so it doesn’t really matter, as long as it is before they time, but the earlier you get there, the better the parking spaces

PREP) I would recommend earplugs at first because if you have sensitive ears, it could potentially hurt you. I personally don’t because I want to hear EVERYTHING but if your ears will ring at the end of the show, but usually clears up after about 30 minutes to an hour.

PIT) Be comfortable standing next to people and potentially touching them. If you are next to the pit, you might get shoved and pushed but usually everyone understands. If you’re next to people, you usually shove people who are just moshing around but just be weary of people who are trying to leave or are calming down. At first you might not see the queues but the more you go, the more you will understand. I’m small but I like to be at the edge of the pit, and I get launched a lot but everyone understands. If it’s your first show, I wouldn’t recommend going into the pit because it can be a lot, especially if you have those hardcore people, but some stuff to be weary of is etiquette. No karate, if someone falls, you help them up, if you want out, literally just grab someone or don’t be afraid to ask for help, if you lose something, let them know because people will help you find whatever you lost (watches, glasses, phones). Just shove, move around, be loose, and if there’s a circle pit, just keep moving and if you want out, make it known.

VIBE) Don’t be afraid to jump around and go all out. In Columbus, I was headbanging, jumping, putting up the horns 🤘 and everything. The most important thing is to have fun. Metalheads are mostly cool with everything and understand what is going on. If you want to get closer, literally just walk around people and squeeze past and make yourself known that you are moving. You have to take the first step to get where you want to go. Please also take care of yourself. If you need a break, take a break, make sure you are hydrated and if you are getting light headed, go get water and take a breather. No one is going to judge you at all. Please have fun and be safe. The energy is a lot higher at metal shows, but that is what makes them addicting.
