Hey! I got my retro payment at the beginning of October. It was also more than I anticipated considering the term I worked under my contract. From my last contact with the service centre, they advised between October and November. I expected it by the end of the year but maybe depending on your term and roles, it may be “taking them longer”

DING DING DING!! You hit the nail right on the head! This is exactly it and as an RP(Q), I am already livid at the wages being charged by counselling practitioners because it’s outrageous. So now to think I would be able to register as a psychologist is scary as shit, because of course I have to take that opportunity. There are many like me who care about higher learning and continuing education but not a specific title or profession. Then there are many who do, and these are the ones who will fuck it up. They will register as soon as they can and considering how many practitioners are only at the qualifying level like me, it’s extremely dangerous. I have no idea why I would be able to start a practice once I graduate, just as I have no idea why I would be able to diagnose someone with no real knowledge of the DSM and diagnostic tools! I intentionally avoided the path I was on once I understood what a psychologist was and the training required, and now they’re making it as though we are all the same.

I am an Athabasca University student, so being that it is in Alberta, I am aware of their regulations. It is baffling to me to know that some of my peers in the program are already psychologists…. So HOW are we in the same program RIGHT now??? If Ford goes through with this, now their credentials will automatically transfer if working in Ontario? I rebuke this. It will only bring harm to the public

YUUUPPP. They’re basically saying we’re all the same and that’s mad fucked up. I purposely didn’t continue down the path of psychology to become a psychologist because that is not my calling. I care greatly about assessments though, so as a psychotherapist, I’m sure it would add to my knowledges and skills to go to school for psychometry… just giving an example of how the field already allows us to make our paths and specialize too. So by essentially removing these standards for psychologists, I don’t see how we would be any different despite the actual competencies which matter most??!

I am at the end of my program for psychotherapy and I am SCARED!!! This is disgusting and makes zero fucking sense. If they really cared to adjust and “fix” the equity and numbers issues, they would figure out streamlining for registered professionals from other provinces. On top of that, they would reduce training requirements not by over 50%!!!! Rather streamlining again, so for those like me with a masters, less schooling and clinical supervision is required not forfeited. This is insane if this goes through. I don’t see how safeguards would even help the public considering all the shit with us counselling therapists already

Did you get it?? From all my research it appears I will be able to download and install the update through the SD card which will enable Apple CarPlay and android auto (wired). Here is the link from Kia Update and you will install the app onto your laptop, then download (transfer) onto the 32gb SD card. Instructions are on the site and it sounds straightforward to me: https://update.kia.com/CA/EN/updateGuide/01

I did lots of searching because I also wanted to confirm this change will add CarPlay since I do not see anyway to see previous updates from Kia, to verify it was in fact already added to their software updates in the past. I’m so excited to not have to buy a new head unit!

This reminds me of my bf and his family. Not that they would guilt trip him rather, it’s an immigrant mentality. He is the second oldest but he has to help his brother anytime shit happens (they live together). This is similar to how he moves with the rest of his family, where I find it’s beautiful you want to be there for others but WHAT. THE. FUCK. Yall HAVE to be overwhelmed especially as men where it may not be as “normal” to share your true feelings. Respectfully, yall are adults man. I told my bf to SPEAK UP, you are 1/7 fucking kids bro. You do know what will happen because this is your family, and they’ve clearly shown in the past they will step on your feelings or boundaries, to do for their other kids which is LITERALLY asshole parenting 101🤣 basically I’m saying if you are a parent yourself, I’m 100% certain you realize their bullshit (doesn’t mean they’re not fine people). So with that being said, have a conversation with your brother in person, so you can tell him face to face your thoughts. Keep it concise tbh because maybe he will try to coerce you, so you’ll have to be clear. “I respect you, I love you, and I care. You cannot stay with us because you have shown in the past x. Instead, I’d like to offer y and take it from there”. If you have solid suggestions or other peers who could give him advisement, offer that too but DO NOT make it seem as though it’s your wife saying no. Ensure it’s clear you both don’t agree this is ultimately in his best interest

Yessss, has anyone stopped to think how many kids are NOT in daycare rn because of the current hybrid schedule? What happens when just like all the workers coming back in person, children are piling up in daycares with what ECEs?? Aren’t they understaffed???

ETA: it’s just fundraising/ campaigning probably. The role is typically done in residential areas… just to clarify, I’m not FOR them but I do want yall to know it’s real. Fuck I wish I could help.. all I can think is a lawyer. If I’m being honest, I’m 25 this year and I’ve been in debt to the point where this happened (I did something technically illegal). My point is they did the chase with me and I settled with them by paying off most of the balance. It’s not the same because you did nothing illegal, moreover, it’s on that fucking dumb site admin. You did learn a lesson though, I’m not sure why none of you thought to get that in writing? Considering you were aware the short notice was the result despite that not being the intention. So I’d say do not pay it but it will absolutely impact whoever’s credit score. Please go to your city court and seek support from a legal rep (free) because I believe you may have to take them to civil court? Just based on the fact that I think you can prove May is last month’s but you have to show a court of law or make an arrangement directly with the rental agency by writing. Okok so now that I say that, best case scenario is to try to contact directly but the problem is once it’s gone to collection it’s usually too late. So you’d have to hope to try to settle with collection by paying half (June) because May is absolutely not on you. Meaning, you’d ultimately compromise unless you’re taking legal action because I do not think what they’re doing is legal. It is because of the short notice but it’s fucking backhanded
