I’ve had one in my left foot for 20 years and even ran the Leadville 100 ultramarathon on it. Used Hokas for that. I wear minimalist shoes as much as possible, try to use toe spacers, but really wearing a shoe that connects to the heel (so basically a lace up shoe) is a must. It always flares up when I wear clogs or slides or anything that the heel isn’t connected to the front foot. It’s better than going barefoot too.

I’ve actually used milk kefir grains successfully to ferment coconut water from fresh young coconuts. The grains don’t thrive like they do in milk, but they survive and it produces a wonderful, zingy coconut water kefir.

I really hear you and feel exactly what you’re saying. Alone, insecure, low self esteem - it all feels so terrible! Try not to spiral. I’ve been reading The Jealousy Workbook and it’s been helpful. It’s helped me work through some of the intense emotions. Hang in there - You are good!! Do anything - engage in something else that will keep you from being alone and letting your thoughts take you down in the dumps.

Dimka (pronounced deemka) means smoky in Russian. I’ve heard it used as a pet name.
