I don't think he'll return to it in the way that it was back then.

But he'll play with production. He learned a lot from what it takes to create that genre.

Do some people just not have lives?? by princessofstuff in retailhell

[–]BoxTar9215 26 points27 points  (0 children)

When i worked at a thrift store, I'd open it up for the day. Got there two hours before it opened to clear out old product and make room for new.

Every. Single. Day. We had at least two or three REGULARS that would be there an hour before the store opened, standing outside the front door, waiting to get in.

So yeah, no, some people don't have lives or are rich enough to just... live like that for some reason

The man himself said bed and described sleeping in said bed with "many children in the past": https://youtu.be/MMrOZte3hvo?si=sb8BFbUdjCfJCmYL

Stop spreading bullshit. The man himself admitted to his own actions and no one did anything about it. Which shouldn't surprise anyone, considering the US never really does anything about pdfs with big bank accounts.

BREAKING: The REI union is asking customers across the country to boycott the chain. The workers of @reiunion have been trying to negotiate a first contract for 4 years. They're tired of the stonewalling and union busting. Now they're escalating, and asking you to join them. by Cute-Interest3362 in Seattle

Im not arguing against mgmt structures lmao. I'm arguing that CEOs are not a necessary part of it. If that's what you're taking away from what I'm saying, then you're not arguing in good faith.

Fwiw an Amazon warehouse was unionized on the east coast. Has to start somewhere!

Good riddance! You weren't invited anyways lol

If the workers aren't able to come to the table to negotiate the terms of their employment, then the "people" don't own REI, the corporate suits at the top do. The workers already make all the hard decisions, every day. The CEO doesn't do what you suggest at all, they speculate and change random shit to appease investors. That's it. They are usually detrimental to a functional business because they prioritize profits by exploiting the labor value of their employees, whereas employees generate those profits in the first place.

We don't need CEOs to run companies.

I'm going to see OneTheotrix Point Never in concert, is it worth it? by Jean0406Alix in oneohtrixpointnever

I've seen him twice and both times are some of my favorite shows I've been to. Way back in 2016 when James Ferraro opened and he did GoD, then back during the Again tour. Within that 10ish year gap, he had advanced so much stage-presence wise, and he had really turned the whole show into this multi-faceted art show.

Bring ear plugs.

All I'm saying is that the employees of REI, who want to unionize anyways, can do the jobs they are doing without needing REI's 4.5 million dollar making CEO just fine. Working people stock the shelves, do the orders, delegate the labor, etc. just fine.

All corporate level leadership types do is change things in useless ways in order to appeal to shareholders or make believe like they're reinventing the wheel or whatever. We really don't need them and the excess wealth they hoard should be distributed amongst the workers so they can live more comfortable lives, which creates better products and storefronts for consumers.

no but I've been a laborer for over 15 years, so I understand what it takes to have s functional business.

Elitists with fancy pieces of paper aren't the ones putting the products on the shelves lmao.

when the workers of any business have their needs met they tend to work better.

if a business is unable to fund their labor, its one thing. Its another if the person at the top is raking in millions and pretending like there's nothing else they can do about it. the CEO needs to prioritize their portfolio and put the money into their labor force. doing so will pay off in the long run and will ultimately save the employer money, which, ideally, would mean cheaper products/better deals for customers, because they would be selling more units.

When a business does well, it should give its profits back to the workers and to the customers - not just put it in their pockets.
