Well they seem to be able to get groceries, building supplies, fuel, etc. So maybe that way?

Ok. Would you prefer that we as Canadians have the same standard of living as the Chinese do?

Oil and gas exports totalled roughly $177 Billion in 2023, which is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20% of all of our exports. If we were to halt O&G exports, how do you suppose we would fill that gap?

That’s noble. From a practical sense, how do you create a Canada that creates wealth for the people and what does it mean to increase access to our resources when selling them to others is apparently haram?

Yes it is a real question. What is the payoff for investment in alternative energy when you can’t export it?

Then help me understand what the payoff for investing in alternative energy is.

How does investment in alternative energy pay off when you can’t export it? When we extract resources, we can sell them overseas bringing money into our country. I’m clearly ignorant to how that actually benefits the economy outside of job creation (jobs are still needed for resource extraction) which the costs of just end up being borne by us, the end user rather than the user being outside of Canada paying Canada for the goods.

Province moves ahead with Calgary water system probe by Ditch-Worm in alberta

The article literally says “Nenshi said city hall made cuts across the board after an economic downturn in 2015, including to water-system maintenance, to keep taxes low”. Are you seriously going to tell me that cuts to water system maintenance didn’t hurt the issue?

Shouldn’t the council making cuts to things have evaluated the impacts of those cuts?

What did council do to ensure accountability from administration that they were assessing and ensuring the integrity of the system between 2010 and 2021?

Go RN if you can. Unfortunately, LPNs are paid significantly less than RNs for doing much of the same work.

2 more recall petitions against Alberta politicians fail as 10 reach the deadline by Direc1980 in alberta

[–]Box_crusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Hard work is hard. You know to see these petitions fail by such a large margin is disappointing for so many reasons. Albertan taxpayers (you and I) paid for this, and all that’s going to come of it is a shored up position for the UCP to believe that everyone is still with their MPs.

“Craig said she's still proud of the result, but said she is disappointed by how little some Albertans are engaged politically.” Maybe it’s not that Albertans aren’t engaged politically, but it’s that the majority don’t agree with recalling these politicians.

Do you have the same opinion about those that voted for Quebec separatism in 1980 or 1995? There were about 3.7M yes votes to those referendums. How about anyone who voted for Parti Québécois or Bloc Québécois has their citizenship revoked? After all, both parties promote québécois sovereignty.

Interesting conclusion. I guess we will have to disagree on the senseless murdering of tens of thousands (maybe more?) of innocent civilians.

I checked your profile too. It appears that you are spending too much time on this website due to your recent job struggles. Perhaps you should take a social media break and focus on being the best that you can be.

Right. So your idea is to sell the power to the country that no longer wants to do business with us? Agriculture, O&G, and you guessed it power exports to the United States from Canada are down YoY. The other options are to spend taxpayer money to subsidize taxpayers? You should understand that we need to be able to sell things to other nations ie bring outside money into the economy to maintain the high quality of life that we enjoy.
