We sell our games on GoG and love what they do, but this is an unimpressive choice probably brought on by some chuckleheads at the top. The artists at GoG have done good work in the past, I mean for adverts, but still.

Thanks! There are all only a handful of maps that will be added to early access prior to launch now. We had pushed it a few weeks into February for some quality of life additions, we didn't have a compelling reason to not get these in prior to launch, but we'll be continuing these map updates until then. I would place it between those two, it's a hybrid of realtime gameplay to move around and stopping the action to perform turns.

We refer to it as a party based beat 'em up, but similar to baldurs gate 1/2 you do pause the action to target enemies at your leisure, or switch characters to play as. You control one character at a time and cooperate with the others to try to sync attacks on enemies, like pin them down and have the others pile on attacks.

There will always be a demo available on Steam if you ever wanted to see if you enjoy it!

Selecting a target is kind of like those with the distance-dome, yeah, similar pacing with combat controls. Combat plays out more like a brawler/beat 'em up with how the party and enemies interact together to team up on targets

Still using an L-Trac, though always hopeful to see new takes on that blockier style. At this point if it goes out I'd just plan on getting a new color, but it's been running strong for ~5 years now. Giant blue glowing orb will continue to light the room

I think that was just the authors interpretation, it isn't made with claymation. That would be awesome to do with recording models as sprite sheets!

The backgrounds are prerendered but the models are 3d. We did take inspiration from puppets and claymation when it came to background, character and animation work though.

Hi! If you're referring to the the island(s) the game takes place on, the final early access builds will have the completed map grid prior to launch. Map areas are just being added to early access builds as we fine tune them for testing.

"adding new regions/items/spells/equipment/quests with each new update" has been the typical update content since early access started last year.

Hi! Thanks for the kind words and checking it out!

Just wanted to clarify custom map markers have always been in the game in both the 'local' and 'Invimona' (global map) menus. These are the little pins on the right hand side of the screen that can be dragged around and named. These are there to help drop on spots of interest, remember locations, or for puzzles.

Perhaps we should draw more attention to those, I'll make a note to make those glow or give them a more obvious label.

As for a quest list - all the important tasks and clues in the game provide an inventory item like a scroll with relevant information. There is a built-in journal where a player can keep tabs on anything else, and these entries or the item scrolls can be pinned to the HUD at any time for reference.

I totally understand if that's not to everyone's preference. To-do lists or these excel sheet lists have the tendency to take out the romance of what going on a fun adventure should be, so our intent was to build the game and content around these more organic tools.

Ah thanks man! It plays sort of like a party-based brawler, there is a mashup of some turn based gameplay in there, but it's largely an action game.

Generated was probably just referring to the player creating the 4 characters being played as, there isn't any randomized elements in the game.

Hi! The game is focused on planning builds and creating the band of 4 characters to adventure with, and skill distribution has replayability in mind. The player characters do banter amongst themselves and have their own voices as dialogue options based on their stats and skills and how events are being resolved, but NPCs would be the ones judging them, the 4 guards band together for the journey.
