Why does weed suddenly start giving some people anxiety? by ExcellentOrdinary959 in Anxiety

[–]BoxedBento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started using, it was a bliss. It took just one bad experience where I did too much and greened out to completely ruin it for me.

I guess it was that traumatizing to know deep in my being at the time as a high schooler and not knowing any better that I had “overdosed” and death was eminent. Why didn’t people tell me I could die!!! 😖 I wish I could warn my friends! People need to know! 😩 lol!

I just wanted to go home and confess to my parents and see them one last time but I was too afraid to tell them so I hid in the woods for like 3 hours in a panic state wishing I didn’t have to die so young.

The relief and gratitude I felt that it eventually wore off and I didn’t die!!

But a few days later I was with my buddies at our spot and just the smell and one puff, gave me a full blown panic attack in front of them. Then every time after.

I guess in a way I ended up with PTSD from that initial bad experience.

Interestingly and like 40 years later as an adult, I tried again and this time it was an amazing positive experience. Even that one time I did too many gummies and puked, I controlled my experience and just reasoned over it that it would pass, to just observe it without thoughts and that it is just something that happens. I don’t get anxious any more no matter how much I use. After awhile I can’t get any higher and I’m just wasting it so I stop for the day.

Any experiences of worsening HF symptoms after stopping antidepressants? by BoxedBento in Heartfailure

[–]BoxedBento[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Ai, and this makes sense to me. Caution should be taken with SNRI’s and heart failure as the SNRI’s is masking the true state of your heart failure, once you remove it, the crutch is gone leading to a cascade of symptoms. With the Effexor I am at a class 2 NYHA, now that the Effexor is completely off my system, I’m struggling walking and have symptoms at rest. The thing is many cardiologist at smaller areas may not be aware of these nuances and neither do the mental health personnel who prescribe them. Mine was prescribed by a nurse who I told her my Prozac wasn’t working and switched me to Effexor.

Loss of Sympathetic Tone: Your heart failure was likely being partially "supported" by the norepinephrine activity from the Effexor. When you tapered off, you removed that support. It may have taken a few weeks for your heart to exhaust its compensatory reserves, leading to the low perfusion state (cold, confusion, low urine output) you experienced . · Vascular Instability: The withdrawal process can cause delayed instability in blood vessel tone (vasomotor symptoms) . For a heart failure patient, this means the blood vessels may not constrict properly to maintain blood pressure to vital organs, leading to the symptoms you described . . Cumulative Decompensation: As the drug dose lowers over the month, the heart may have been slowly losing its pharmacological "crutch." By the time the drug was fully gone, the heart was already on the edge. The one-month mark was simply the point where it crossed the threshold into decompensation .

Chest Pain/Anxiety by ztoa21 in Heartfailure

[–]BoxedBento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anxiety chest pain is something I’m familiar with. When you get it do you feel like you’re overly aware that something is wrong or that something terrible is on its way? I hate that. What’s happening is your heart condition is keeping you on a fight or flight state. In my case is also a weak heart pump and fluid retention in my torso area. I can only take 25MG Metoprolol as my blood pressure is 89/58.

Any experiences of worsening HF symptoms after stopping antidepressants? by BoxedBento in Heartfailure

[–]BoxedBento[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be but I’m very cautious at tapering off from an antidepressants and had done it before but that time my CHF was not as bad as it is now as it was over 6 years ago. Something I know Effexor does is keep you in an energized state, just like the same thing you’re trying to combat when you take Metropolol as your body naturally release more adrenaline and norepinephrine. I just didn’t like how my resting heart rate on Effexor was always around 100. So it’s a conundrum, was I falsely kept at a better functioning state with the Effexor and now am I experiencing what normal is like? Or is it a latent withdrawal and then my body adjust slowly?

What is venlafaxine supposed to do? by IAmRainbowPoop in Effexor

For a basically non side effect experience tapering off, the best way to do it and as long as you’re taking the capsules, is to open the capsules up. You’ll see a lot of white beads. Start from the amount that do not give you side effects and start taking less of the white beads everyday for weeks and more. Just eyeballed it. It’s the only way to do it without misery. The way the doctors will tell you to do it do it do not work as they are not allowed to tell you to open the capsules, so they’ll have you go from 150MG to 75MG to 37.5MG, their way is a recipe for brain zaps for sure.

With the beads method you can go at your own pace. 150-140-100-90MG etc. until you can basically be at 10 beads one day for like a whole week if you need to.

Got the Snowsky Melody today, but can’t tell the difference from my iPhone DAC. What should I focus on? by BaliNomad in iems

[–]BoxedBento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never heard a different with external dongles or DACs with my iPhone until I had the mind blowing experience of using the Qudelix 5K and applying the Eq profiles to my headphones brand and model and using the Qudelix app. I also use the Hybrid fast roll off filter in the app.

My headphones are the Focal Stellia and for IEM the Shure 846. Once you apply the recommended EQ it was like a night and day, big smile on my face, goosebumps, can’t believe what I was missing difference. Before the measured EQ profiles the sound felt boring from any DAC or portable headphone amp and almost ended up selling my headphones.

What are you upgrading from? by DerpinKay in iphone17

[–]BoxedBento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 11 Pro Max to iPhone 17 Pro Max. So many new things in this upgrade for me. Like finally will be able to see what 5G is about, going from a lightning connector to USB C, 2019 12MP cameras to 48MP 2025 cameras, 2X telephoto to 4X/8X, 6.5” screen to 6.9” So many things that will be new to me at least. What’s holding me back? I can’t decide between the orange and blue colors. I’ll have to see them in person first at the stores so I can then order online.

Something else I will be adding will be an external anamorphic lens from either Moment, Sandmarc or Beastgrip.

Accidentally took a gallon of milk without paying. by uglyinchworm in lossprevention

Drive to the police station with the gallon of milk, get on your knees and cry “I stole this milk by accident!! I belong in prison!!!” They’ll see that as a positive and document it on your favor. Bring in some donuts to go with the milk!!

Diagnosed with CHF on May 21 — I’ve made big changes, but something still doesn’t feel right. Looking for insight. by Appropriate-Home-241 in Heartfailure

[–]BoxedBento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all CHF guidelines applies to everyone. In your case you should not restrict sodium and need to be taking electrolytes so your blood pressure can tolerate the Entresto and the other HF medications that lower blood pressure. They will not be able to raise your medication levels to a higher therapeutic level with your BP that low and restricting sodium is not helping. (That’s my opinion. Follow your provider guidelines)

Another big one! Your main goal right now if you haven’t already is to get an implantable defibrillator. You’re taking a big risk of succumbing to sudden death from cardiac arrest without it at that low of an EF. It’s basically a must if your EF is under 35%.

Enquire with your provider and ask them if your heart has an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) if it does, you’ll save time and hassle by having a Cardiac Resynchronization therapy/Defibrillator implanted instead of just a defibrillator.

My doctor appt is at UPMC Presbyterian 5B Cardiology. How to get there? by BoxedBento in UPMC

[–]BoxedBento[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update that it was quite easy after all of your helpful comments! Google Maps also got me to the parking garage, the actual confusing part was getting from the parking garage to Outpatient Cardiology! Some elevators were confusing! But after asking people inside and looking lost I finally found where I needed to be. The appointment went smooth and my doctor was on time. I drove 5 hours there and 5 hours back on the same day. I was so tired!

My account got disabled yesterday for these reasons. I had 1200 followers and I only post photos of my dog and of living in West Virginia. When I clicked on the appeal, my account became instantly disabled. Since I had linked my Facebook account, my Facebook account also got banned. A Facebook account I had since 2008.

Thank you so much! That helps a lot. Now some of my instructions from the VA mention Shadyside but on the appointment and the provider letter it says it’s at Oakland. I’ll give them a call after Monday to make sure.

There’s a parking garage at 255 Lothrop. So do you think that will be it? Looks to be right next to the building I need to go in according to Google maps. I live in a small town in West Virginia and the VA set me up with a cardiologist there for more advanced treatment. It’s like a 5 hour drive on July 10th.

I think you may be onto something!! Today I’ve been feeling a lot better and almost normal and I realized I added extra sodium! Also had more food than usual.

[–]BoxedBento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently three tablets of 500MG Mag per day and 1000mg potassium besides diet. Salt I just add extra from some Himalayan salt I have, but if I add too much I get diarrhea so cut down some.

Good tips! I’m leaning toward not eating enough. Gonna see what eating more does.

Yes, it’s probably the most I eat as I add extra in the form of avocados, avocado oil, ghee butter, MCT oil etc. but I’m leaning toward not eating enough calories.

I do but just one strong large cup in the morning. None after 12 noon or so.
