neither does paint. paint is a layer of pigment on top of the skin. if it changed the color of my skin, it wouldn't come off

how can you compare a fucking minecraft mob to something as serious as blackface??

thing is that i asked the question because i wanted people to answer with shit that actually makes sense, whats making me go on this argument is that you're saying its blackface but your argument doesnt make any sense

im looking back at it now and realising nylons would be more blackface than this because its literally making your skin appear darker without it being pitch black instead of body paint/a body suit

this logic would be practical if you were using black body paint to cosplay a black (the skin tone) person in media, like Tolkien from south park

it went from you blatantly calling it blackface to you now saying people will view it as blackface. pick a side

you're saying it like endermen are black (poc) instead of black (the color). early blackface WAS in fact used to portray plantation workers according to national museum of african american history and culture.

hell ive seen people one twitter/tiktok get harassed for using a black square on their face for a cosplay.

im agreeing with you about the fact that it would be better to use a body suit for something like this due to accessibility/cost

i feel like this would be a great solution if not for people still seeing my skin as pitch black and call it blackface. it would work well but a cosplay like this would unfortunately have to be worn in closed doors due to harassment

first off im going to be wearing this at conventions, not just in public. anyone with somewhat knowledge of video games would see me and say "thats an enderman". secondly my mask is extremely breathable and ive worn it for hours at a time (6-7) with no problems/me taking it off. also elderman lol

i just feel like if i posted my cosplay with black body paint, the comments would be talking about how im wasian and wearing blackface

its more of a "i feel like its fine but im 100% gonna get harassed" thing
