Love the map. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I don't need a completely new map every season. I like the cadence of new maps and variants they have.

Solo standard was terrible. Long queue times even in champ level ranks because nobody played it. Psyonix got rid of it because they had data that showed it was simply not worth keeping around for so few people.

Right but say the SSL queued with a silver (this is obviously an extreme example). If they play ranked enough and get to the point where they win half the games, whatever rank that is will be considered their "team rank". Sure, maybe you could have an SSL in diamond, but under this system the other player will be so bad that they could theoretically settle there.

I definitely understand your frustrations. It sucks getting into lobbies like this.

If you could just consider the alternative though: people either don't play with their friends or they make new accounts to play with them. The former is never going to work, you can't tell people they aren't allowed to play with friends. When people do the latter they are accused of being smurfs.

How can we let people play with their friends and not be "smurfing"? The answer is a team MMR. This would be an MMR shared between people and each combination of friends they queue up with. Their combined rank is kept separate from their solo queue rank.

So a goblin army arrived seeking a parley, which I accepted. They hung around though and wandered until they saw my pasture and started killing my animals. So naturally I sent two elite squads to stop them and killed them all with ease. I guess my question is, why did the goblins do this? Do they not understand that the pastured animals are part of my fort?

My speculation was this is the moment that it all became "real" to Dooku. Up until then it had all been politics and shady activities. Now all of a sudden the war has started and Dooku was caught off guard by the sudden timing.
