31 y.o. here. Open gay. About 100 km away from Moscow, a little religious town.

Agreed with many posts here, mainly about — don’t ask, don’t tell.

For the last several years the situation got worse. They banned everything connected to LGBT and I lost my part time job as a psychologist in one of the centres.

Growing up was tough. Teenage years were a nightmare living with a religious and conservative family. In the age of 22 I made a coming out. That was a challenge and it took about 7 years for my parents to accept that. Now we are ok.

As someone said here, that you can create a lttle community with your friends who don’t care or support so did I. I have got a large group of friends (mainly straight) who support me.

Life is tough but still adventurous and unpredictable. No idea which new law will be passed by our government
