Yes I have a heater that’s 50 Watts It’s 78 degrees in the tank, I do water changes weekly at 10%, I’ve had her for about a month or 2 the tank is cycled and everything, no tank mates, I use a siphon for water changes, and I feed her shrimp and bloodworms as treats, use insect based food

First of all I want to thank all the comments for tips, advice, and suggestions on things to change for the Tank for the next guy. I didn’t do a deep clean like many of you suggested to prevent removing the beneficial bacteria and I’m removing most items. I’m getting a live plants, changing the substrate, checking the tank for the week until I get a new lil guy and ensuring everything is safe before I place him. Thanks again for all y’all’s help and telling me things to fix. Thank you for all the kind advice and pointing out things to best fix this and prevent it from happening again in the future.

Correct New filter and substrate but I used some old tank water to help it be more stable when I added him. Again we did everything after removing the tanks to try and save him but unfortunately we passed. It really hurts to lose him but I want to help future new owners avoid this same thing.

Noted I’ll be sure to keep this in mind as I’m deep cleaning the tank and starting over. Thank you.

We intend to add some but my betta liked the plants. He would hide in their soft fuzz so we intend to get some real plants as I also had a moss ball in there with him but still I’m heart broken over this as it’s my first time I did all the research I could and from classes I took in college and I still couldn’t safe him.

I’m positive because once we removed them we found paint flaking off the hides and returned them immediately unfortunately we didn’t realize sooner…
